You would be surprised at how much effort and discussion went into designing just the right pattern of cracks.
If you send a ticket on the web site, we'll take care of that.
Please DO love it! Please DO hack it.
Just not with a hacksaw. That would most certainly void the warranty.
But adding SIDs, SD card, internal USB drive, LEDs, buttons, IEC drive... all those are fair game! My C64U-C is more "mod" than "factory" at this point.
Short version, a "force majeure" caused a delay of all the systems bound for the UK, which has cascaded into delays for all of our systems bound for the region. :(
We're working to route new shipments to you, and the last I heard, we were still targeting end of March.
We’ve lost an old friend of Commodore.
Hedley Davis helped shape part of what many of us still love about this machine era: from the famous spinning globe REU demo, to work on peripherals & early Amiga systems.
We honor his contribution, & send our condolences to all who knew him and loved him.
Major has been promoted to Commodore 😉
Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, aka the voice of Xbox for 20+ years, has joined team #Commodore as a Community Development Advisor.
Congrats on the promotion Major. Welcome aboard. 🫡

Trying out this old keyboard peripheral on the #C64ultimate ... Little bit of 'Sonic' from my daughter ❤️
Commodore supplied the hardware. Jeff Minter added llamas, lasers, and a lasting mark on game history.
At #GDC, grab a seat for Heart of Neon (@d0kk.bsky.social ), celebrate Jeff in full neon form, and get hands-on with the new Commodore 64 Ultimate.

Computing should be a family activity. It's so great seeing you and your dad enjoying a common interest.
If you're going to make an OS for tech enthusiasts, then it's hard to top real UNIX, with a side of X-Window.
Maybe we can just go back to the days of floppy diskettes. That will solve all the problems.
There's definitely room in the market for a multimedia-focused system and software. IDK what the design geniuses have in mind, but I do hear strange noises coming from their labs once in a while. I just hope it's not another pizza making robot. A person can only eat so much pizza in one day.
Also, if you contact us via www.commodore.net/contact-us, we can have an extended conversation. I would hate to lose the thread here.
I did have a chat with our engineering genius about this, and he said that there is no sort of connection sensing on the CVBS outputs. They're always active. He did say that there's a slight impedance difference that may be weaking the signal just enough to cause issues.
Is this NTSC or PAL?
Have you put in a support ticket via www.commodore.net/contact-us with the specifics of your switching and capture hardware? I'm wondering if the problem might be going the other way - the signal being just attenuated enough that your monitor is not getting the color burst and not turning on color.
It's actually how I run one of my systems at home. I hook my monitor up through a Retrotink via S-Video and directly to a Camlink 4K for video capture.
I don't see a note about this on our bug board, but I do remember having a conversation about it. I'll make sure this gets listed.
I never cease to be amazed at the creativity of our fans. Keep up the good work!
Proud to have played a part in inspiring the Starlight Edition of the new Commodore 64 Ultimate 😍
@commodoreofficial.bsky.social just published a spotlight on my #C64 setup, favourite tracks, and connection between my music and this iconic machine.

4.5/5 stars from @techradar.com! Jennifer Allen called the Commodore 64 Ultimate “a triumph” and “a labor of love.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Read the full review here: www.techradar.com/gaming/commo...

Did you know that the C-64 Ultimate offers OPTICAL OUT for Audio? With that, you can solve many signalling problems you may remember from the original C64. Brilliant ...
