My son is a civil servant. The vetting was detailed. They had to have access to all his bank details and credit card and to his phone, details about us, (he lived with us at the time) about what apps we had on our phone, his social life, his partner. And a three hour Interview.

The news of her death came up on the screen when I was in an oncology waiting room with my son. His face dropped and he said "don't look mum" but of course I did. I really wanted to weep. So her death is always linked to that situation.
