Be advised, the prohibition era belongs to the furries now. All historical depictions of prohibition era United States must now exclusively feature animal people. Violators will be reeducated. Thank you.

Also every time a CEO wants to stroke their own ego and brag to the whole company about the unbelievable piles of money we're making they should be required to give everyone at least a 5% raise.

I'm going to be forced to take one of those soon too and I'm thinking of bringing a vomit bag with me just in case.

I always recommend The Dry Spell by @slip-wolf.bsky.social. A supernatural vampire/werewolf book taking place in Chicago during prohibition. Well, researched and beautifully written.

If that doesn't suit you, you can try a different recommendation here: www.shilohskye.com/recommended-...

Can I recommend a nice furry book to read in this trying time?

They've done wonders for me when I need an internet cleanse.

No problem! Just want to make sure you're safe.

I hate to say it, but this account you're chatting with looks fishy. They seem to comment on a lot of random people's posts to try and get them to pay for some sort of beta reading service. Exercise caution in case it's a scammer.

HeartTheft: Covenant (Book 1 of 2)

And HeartTheft by Rukis (NB author) is an excellent history-inspired, M/NB, enemies-to-lovers novel about a templar out to capture a notorious thief. One of my personal faves.

Off the Beaten Path by Rukis is also a great read.

Induction (Redline's Downfall: Book 1)

There is also the entire Korps Universe (mostly trans authors) which is about queer supervillains punching fascists in the face a lot. Induction by Syntax Takes is a good place to start for those books.

Fairy Tales

Sure!

Fairy Tales by Robin (Female author) is a delightful magical realism, lesbian romance about a forest witch who also works as a forest ranger and comes upon a tabby cat with a strange affinity for magic.

A thumbnail for my short story Rapture. At the top of the image is the title Rapture in bold white letters. At the bottom is the subtitle A Transformation Short Story in white letters. To the top right of the subtitle is a badge saying Coyotl Award Nominee. It is all in front of artwork by Ruolina of an anthropomorphic dragon and tiger comforting an anthropomorphic wolf amidst a golden temple-like backdrop and feathers.

Check out @doppelfoxxpublishing.com as well when they start up. They have a book called Indigo Nights coming out with one of my favorite asexual characters. He can teleport. Heck yeah.

I know there are other titles, I just can't recommend books I haven't read myself. Worth browsing @furplanet.com, @fenrispublishing.bsky.social, and @tfpublishing.bsky.social for them though!

God I love SynthW4V3's stories.

There are some authors who are brilliant at it. @rukis.bsky.social, for example, can turn a block of navel gazing into a galaxy of captivating character insight. I'm a sucker for a good train of thought.
