Bird-related: I FINALLY saw a cedar waxwing with my own eyeballs yesterday. I’d only seen them as distant silhouettes once before, but we stumbled on a group yesterday that were easily identifiable. David was able to get a photo!

Black and white medium format photograph of a very large geologic protrusion at the edge of a cliff. In the distance can be seen vast canyons with a clear sky above and fluffy white clouds just at the horizon.
This is “my rock” on the #edge of a cliff at my favorite spot in my favorite national park. Even being terrified of heights, Canyonlands never ceases to awe me.

I love seeing people’s list because I always end up adding new titles to my to-be-read list.

I’m determined to try to keep an open mind with the one I just bought . . . or hate read it to the bitter end. 😅
Exactly!!
Yes, yes, I know libraries exist and some book sellers offer previews, etc etc. This is (mostly) a joke. But it woulda helped me out.
Here’s the thing: I think online book sellers should have to put a description of the writing style/format or allow you to read the first page.
This would have saved me from buying a *supposedly* amazing book . . . that is written in 1st person present, which I truly loathe. 🫠

Book # 18 ‘26. “The Sofa” (Sam Munson). Genres: psychological horror, literary horror, novella. Rating: 4/5 ⭐️
I REALLY enjoyed this little, Kafka-esque novel. An un-asked-for couch suddenly appears at a man’s house and he becomes tormented by it.

Book # 17 of ‘26. “Beloved” (Toni Morrison). Genres: American literature, magical realism, historical fiction. Rating: 3/5 ⭐️
Morrison’s audiobook narration is fantastic. She could read a phone book and it would sound like poetry.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Lomochrome Purple. 😊 #believeinfilm #filmphotography #35mm
This might be my favorite image I’ve seen from this film!

I was doing monthly reading recaps, but I think I’ll just start doing individual recaps. Catching up from March:
Book # 16 of ‘26. “We Spread” (Iain Reid). Genres: psychological horror, thriller. Rating: 2/5 ⭐️
Out of Reid’s 3 books I’ve read, this was the only one I didn’t enjoy.
This is wildest wrong-answer answer, and I approve. 😂
And when I develop my Bigfoot image, I’m gonna be RICH RICH RICH!!
Based on the age of the camera, you might actually be onto something here. 😅
This photo was actually taken right before a giant Brontosaurus stepped on my camera. 😭
I’m not allowed to confirm nor deny.
Well, you’re not wrong. 😂
Of course, with all the tropical rainfall in the region!
Actually if I’d seen a mountain lion, that would be accurate AND awesome!
This is the ideal astrophotography set up. I will take no questions.
SAME. I had a photog friend who adores it as her all-around, go-to film though. And apparently she really dislikes Ektacolor 200/ColorPlus which is one of *my* favorites. 😂 I don’t get it either, but I guess to each their own.

What am I photographing in Davis Mountains of far west Texas? Wrong answers only.

Ron’s got the right idea. 😂
Been to Balmorhea twice, but not being swimmers, they were more of a “this water looks so pretty!”, “got a great pic of these nice ripples!”, “ok, time to go”, kind of visits. Once in December and then week before last. I’ve heard the birding is nice there tho.
100%!
They are truly stunning!
