Tem dias (quase todos) que bate um arrependimento devastador das minhas escolhas profissionais. A gente sempre acha que pode mudar sempre que quiser, mas não é assim. Principalmente com a idade avançando e você só podendo contar consigo mesmo.

We filed suit against the Trump administration (again) today to block the implementation of an unlawful executive order that seeks to undermine inclusion & equal opportunity, threatens government contractors w/ criminal prosecution, & chills protected speech.
These are not normal times.
The South.
Glad to say I passed the test.
I'll diminish soon.
"our leadership has remained conspicuously silent when faculty members — disproportionately women and faculty of color — have had their scholarship and qualifications impugned by members of Congress and by right-wing outlets like Fox News..."

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

“Bread shortages have worsened across Gaza in recent days as bakeries scale back production because of dwindling flour and fuel supplies, leaving Palestinians to queue for hours despite a cease-fire intended to improve humanitarian conditions in the territory.”
Don’t take your eye off Gaza.
This week in Palestine:
- Israel continued its genocide in Gaza
- Israeli settlers raided a village in the West Bank
- Israel is allowing soldiers suspected of rape back on duty

A tweet from Pope Leo XIV that reads: “When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.”
Apparently the Pope has read Baudrillard.
