The Free Speech Coalition is serious about starting an adult industry credit union. Part of this is being able to show regulators that enough people would use it, so please fill out this form if you're interested!
(Yes, credit unions can issue credit cards!)

Val, a shorn white guy in an elastomeric mask and grey sleeveless t, is sitting at his zine table reading a copy of Cam Girls Wanted. The table is covered in a corn-patterned tablecloth and a variety of cool zines.
The poster for the zine fair, taped to the building with hot pink duct tape.
Come on down to the corn table and get yerself some zines! 🌽
Tabling today 10-16h at the Halifax Zine Explosion, All Nations Church (2535 Robie St)
A photo of a few of the zines Val will be selling at the Zine Fair, laid on a table cloth patterned in a photo montage of corn on the cob. The zines from left to right include Cam Girls Wanted, 5 Fake Cum Recipes from a dissertation on ga porn written in 1975, Push My Buttons: a zine to and by online sex workers circa 2004, and The Wuzzles Made Me Queer.
…Cam Girls Wanted, a memoir of early 2000s webcamming (which pairs great with a reprint of 2004 zine Push My Buttons); The Wuzzles Made Me Queer, about binary-straddling 80s cartoon The Wuzzles; the ever-popular 5 Fake Cum Recipes from a 1970s dissertation on gay porn production; and more!
Poster for the Halifax Zine explosion, April 18 10am - 4pm, 2535 Robie Street. It shows a drawing of lil guy detonating a cascade of red and blue electrical waves, suggests bringing cash, and notes there will be HEPA filtration and masks provided.
This Saturday! I’ll be tabling at the Halifax Zine Explosion, April 18th, 10-16h at All Nations Church (2535 Robie St.). Come find me at the corn table 🌽 🤠 and grab some nsfw classics like…

Credit card companies should not be able to tell people how they spend their money, but that's exactly what they're doing.
We have a chance to speak up and we need to.

Val's thread (below) contains many great points in favour of maintaining dedicated transit lanes in Halifax. Write the mayor, public works minister Fred Tilley, and your MLA and ask them to help keep buses moving. 🚌
will further increase traffic congestion as bikes will have to return to sharing car lanes.
7. If the city wants to encourage carpooling, they can follow in the path of other cities and convert regular car lanes to HOV. But taking away dedicated bus lanes will only make our traffic problems worse.
As housing and other costs of living continue to soar, more and more HRM constituents will find themselves in this disregarded demographic.
6. Most bus lanes are also bike lanes, so any attack on bus lanes is also an attack on cycle infrastructure. Taking away dedicated bus/bike lanes...
5. Bus lanes are an equity issue. Car-centric planning privileges those who can afford to drive. Transforming bus lanes into car lanes degrades transportation options for any lower-income people who cannot justify the expense of car ownership (averaging over $16,000 yearly in Canada)...
4. Bus lanes are the first step to creating the promised Bus Rapid Transit system (as outlined in the 2020 Rapid Transit Strategy). BRT relies on dedicated bus lanes. Turning bus lanes into HOV lanes effectively kills the BRT plan.
3. Bus lanes are part of the solution to traffic congestion. If we want people to switch to transit, transit must be reliable. For transit to be reliable, buses can't be stuck in car traffic. We need dedicated bus lanes to keep things running smoothly!
while an articulated bus holds 112. Even at high occupancy, it would take as many as 34-56 cars to carry the same number of people, plus all the road space required to maintain separation between all of those cars. By introducing cars to bus lanes, you diminish the capacity of the lane.
1. Turning bus lanes into "HOV" lanes is effectively turning them into car lanes.
2. HOV is not high capacity. Cars (whether single-occupant or passenger-carrying) are still the least space-efficient form of road transportation. Buses are high capacity: a regular bus can hold 68 passengers, ...
It’s regressive & inefficient & won't solve traffic congestion.
Write/call:
Mayor Andy Fillmore: mayor@halifax.ca, 902.490.4010
Min. of Public Works Fred Tilley: publicworksminister@novascotia.ca, 902.424.2297
to let them know you support evidence-based traffic solutions. Possible talking points⬇️
HRM Call to Action! ☎️ 💻📨 Phone/email script below ⬇️
Andy Fillmore wants to take away dedicated bus lanes by opening them up to “high occupancy vehicles” (HOV).
That’s any vehicle with just 2+ people! 🚗🛻🚚🚙🚗🛻🚚💨
