A mannequin stands in the centre of the screen where you can select a body part and adjust a slider between “detached” and “intense”.
A screenshot of a grid where you can plot vague feelings. Along the x axis is unpleasant to pleasant, and along the y axis is low energy to high energy. After plotting a position on the graph the app will suggest feelings associated with that position.
The app asks you if you’re feeling a certain physical sensation, for example “touch sensitivity”. From there you can add all the different symptoms you are feeling and it will suggest emotions you can add that contribute to a final explanation of what it thinks you’re feeling.
I have alexithymia.
I found an app called “Amni” which can really help when checking in on myself or when trying to talk about my emotions.
You can input physical sensations and it’ll help you figure out what’s going on, it has definitions, an emotion compass and lots more. It’s truly amazing!!!

This photo is a screenshot of the "Obervations" page of iNaturalist. The locations are covered with blue pen, but the listings are still available. You can see several mushrooms listed, such as "Giant Funnel" and "Pale Oyster." At the bottom, a Great Egret is listed.
How?
- Take your phone, get iNaturalist. The photo is what mine looks like.
- Take photos of everything you think that's neat. Flowers, birds, etc
- The app will guess its ID. Experts might help
- Ask experts what books they use to learn more. Audit a university bio class. There's options!

We don't talk enough about how nearly-impossible it is to hold down a full-time job as an Autistic.
You mean I have to go to work every weekday, regardless of how stable I feel?
You mean I have to be ready, capable, and able for 8 straight hours?
It feels so hard. All the time.
