Doctoral thesis suggests local fishers’ knowledge sharpens predictions of pikeperch spawning areas | University of Helsinki Mathematical modelling refines environmental policy planning. A University of Helsinki study has developed new tools for comparing water quality improvement methods in the Finnish Archipelago Sea and monitoring the spawning areas of coastal fish.

Last week, postdoc Tanel Vahter visited Professors Normand and Svenning at Aarhus University to discuss methods and future collaboration between Aarhus, Helsinki & Tartu on historical land-use legacies. He also presented results from his Marie Curie Fellowship on long-term soil legacies in Estonia.
