Extra extra awoooo!
Awoooo!
I’m sorry my experience was different than yours. I’ll let you keep waging your one person war against Kobo. Hopefully it brings your life fulfillment.
I wonder if there’s some context missing, because my spouse reads pretty explicit erotica quite regularly and those authors are able to sell on kobo like Sam Crescent. And that author is constantly 4-5 flames for explicitness on romance.io.
I understand your feelings, Alexandra. It was a different time and I think that they were trying to replicate the feeling of a small town, everyone is a regular experience. I hope you have a great day, it was nice to meet you, and I hope we see you back again. ;)
CHANT* is important. You should strive to personalize the interaction with your customer if you are in a position to get their name (CC, rewards member, or Check Transaction). I dry to do the same with employees based on name tag.
*-Customers Have A Name Too
That is a good _start_, someone should chart that out at a macro level with corrections for confounders so that the eviction causes are consistent.
What I see here these last few days is a bunch of people saying the current metrics don’t pain the right picture. What I don’t see is people saying which macro-level metrics that can be reliably measured by reliable firms we should use that aren’t feelings-based. I’m open to suggestions.
It’s almost exactly this Dara O’Briain joke from way too long ago.

"Somewhere in the middle" of the last two things you heard isn't an opinion, it's opting out of the conversation and being smug about it.
The truth is, I don't see a single card-carrying "centrist" who isn't a rich person with the ability to ignore the plight of the bottom 90%.
Hey A-holes, we see you. WTF do you believe in? If it's human rights and a society that workd for all, stop breaking bread with cartoon villains.
is letting a corrupt rapist con man do whatever he wants while his cabinet of evil sycophants act out their power-fantasies on the world stage. The other party wants more affordable health care and clean drinking water. Where's the center between those two worlds? Is it a functioning society?
Exactly. "Centrism" is a thing ppl can champion if they're protected from the dangers of bad governance (or too stupid to understand how bad governance affects their lives).
"The center" is where two different groups land when arguing policy. Well, one party has abdicated responsibility and (cont)
Be careful here, you don’t want anyone to think you might be considering putting together a plan to arrange a date where you discuss if you should maybe, possibly suggest that today is maybe the day Trump did something presidential.
That’s… certainly a choice in response…
May you find some peace for whatever torments you.
Avoiding what someone said and attacking them is what you do when you can’t find any issue with the argument but can’t stand to be challenged. (I’m lucky if I can read 50 books a year, but that’s not something I brag about or even really discuss)
Good luck, 👍
Minnesotans, we got this. Click LIKE on the embedded post if you think our flag is the best flag (which it obv is)
What happens if you have a major motorcycle accident and become a quadriplegic as a result? Would you quit being a competitive body builder instead of using a machine that you triggered that could lift the weights for you?
Fun development in evolutionary biology in the last few decades, the introduction and acceptance of cladistics which sorts apes as a subset of monkeys. With Cladistics everything is a subset of the broader evolutionary ancestor.
Awoooooooooo!
Not one for theories of everything (other than the housing theory of everything, duh), but I do think "we undermined the material basis for patriarchy without destroying its grip on the collective imagination, thereby driving many people insane" is a sort of skeleton key to most of what's happening.
Everything is political. The choice not to be "political" is a conscious political choice, one that seems to be saying "As a cishet white man, MY existence isn't political and therefore my stories about cishet white men aren't political either."
All stories are political.
Yes, even - indeed *especially* - the ones that go out of their way to try and avoid being political.
I believe that is a protected term that requires at least one Mini Cooper to be involved to qualify for the title as well.
One of my formative jobs in the late 90’s was behind the desk of a hotel and our head of maintenance was a “very” Irish immigrant. He strongly suggested multiple times that he was in the us because he needed to evade repercussions due to his actions in The Troubles. Fascinating fellow.
@bencollins.bsky.social Where can I buy my “I survived Jonestown” t-shirt‽ My local Goodwill was out.
Thanks! I’ll keep my eyes open. I’ll have to see if my local library has access to them in Libby.
Congrats! Are the ebooks Amazon only at this point or are they available in epub anywhere? I use a Kobo…
Have the Meeples released a public statement on Carcassonne?
