I first met Ian in the bar queue at Nine Worlds London in 2014, where he he related the tale of how his WH40K novel Space Marine came to be written, published, and suppressed by Games Workshop. It was always a joy to run into him at a convention, and he will be missed.

I continue to be broke and unemployed and scrambling for any cash just to keep a roof over my head. If you can spare anything to keep the rent paid, please do, and of course my games are all on the shop if you've not tried them yet.

The period that produces this game was so amazing and will probably never happen again

After the success of ff7, with the new horizons opened by psx tech, they just greenlit everything

a bunch of new unique rpgs, fighting games, action games. All pushing the machine to its limit

a lot of the ways people talk about facts vs feelings don't make any sense if you've ever in your life taken any time to think about what facts and feelings are and why you need both to make any decisions ever

but they make real big sense when you remember that facts are boys and feelings are girls

Rebel Wilson’s Bonkers & Sexist Libel Lawsuit I really hate to do two videos about movie stars so close together, but there are a few reasons I want to talk about the comedian Rebel Wilson from the Pitch Perfect movies today: first of all, bec…

The actor Rebel Wilson is being sued for defamation for claiming that a producer on her new movie sexually assaulted the lead actress. This story is, in fact, SO MUCH WILDER than you realize. skepchick.org/2026/03/rebe...

The problem with being happy about a company ripping off a bigger company is that it never stops at just the bigger company getting ripped off.

After several intense and incredible years building Cohost from the ground up, I've decided to step back as CEO and transition into a new role as Cohost's Chief Dicksucking Officer.

Hasbro’s CEO on J.K. Rowling. We just published our new Decoder interview with Chris Cocks, the head of Hasbro. I asked him directly about how he thinks about author J.K. Rowling’s politics and what it’s done to the Harry Potter f...

cannot stress enough that "separate the art from the artist" was meant for private individuals reconciling the art they love with its flawed creators and not meant for the ceo of a company driving a dump truck of money up to a bigot's front porch

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

Ah dang. I met Bruce Campbell once. He was showing Man With the Screaming Brain and so many ppl showed up for the signing beforehand that he couldn't greet them all, so he stayed for hours after the movie to get through the line. I asked him if he could gimme some sugar and he said no. Nicely.

Buzz on investor news sites over the last few days is Unity are trying to shop around for a buyer for the Chinese division. Presumably this is part of further decoupling the business so they can cut it loose.

Confronting the question of how much or how little system matters is the most important exercise I have ever undertaken as a game designer, and one I still wrestle with in every new project.

If you're not having that honest conversation with yourself, do you even know what you are doing?

Thematically speaking, the most important thing Terry Pratchett taught me was the concept of militant decency. The idea that you can look at the world and its flaws and its injustices and its cruelties and get deeply, intensely angry, and that you can turn that into energy for doing the right thing and making the world a better place. He taught me that the anger itself is not the part! should be fighting. Nobody in my life ever said that before.

This is a good lesson, no matter how you come to learn it

Lenovo's Legion gaming laptop rolling screen concept. It's cool that this works, but I had a little argument with a company rep about whether or not anyone would want to buy one. He said, half jokingly, the audience was "billionaire CEOs" and other rich people

I've officially lost my unemployment. My 26 weeks are up, sooner than I expected, somehow.

Still no job, interviewed at a DQ today that seemed promising. If you've got tech or writing or voice work that isn't an AI scam hmu, otherwise flip me a few if you can spare it.
