Rev Ben Cremer keeps dropping wisdom, so I just keep reposting it. Been pretty down about the state of the country lately; his posts have been a balm. I hope they are for others as well. He reminds me I’m not alone, that there are many Christians who know this and feel it deep in their souls.

This would be funny, too, if we didn’t have to live in it.
A Twitter/X account deactivation image
Joining the deactivation crowd. Happy to be more active here, but I haven’t really used “X” since Elmo took it over (and I deleted it from my phone a while ago).
Oh that hits harder than I’d like to admit.
I’ll never forget my New Testament professor telling me that sometimes God’s wrath in the Bible looks like just letting people have the king they demanded. The world they wanted. The reality they voted for.
I think people *think* they’re going to avoid the pitfalls and be able to personally thrive in the midst of it. I also think some people simply don’t see it happening, which is truly bizarre to me.
The view from part of my Saturday long run. Two hours, 11.25 miles on a beautiful 60° day. The only problem was the cluster headache migraine that hit me around minute 77 of 120. But I managed to finish the run anyway after taking meds and waiting out the migraine at a local park!
Zuck seems to be happy with the election results, too. That’s what I was referring to by “several.” X is by far the worst, but FB’s moderation policies do seem to allow misinformation to flourish.
I guess I’ll start using this a lot more now that several of the other social media platforms are run by people who want this to be a totalitarian nation.
I still have mine. I deleted it from my phone, which has made me much less active. It was like cutting off an addiction. It helped. I don’t use it as much from my laptop.
For sure. It’s on the syllabus later in the semester. Last time I taught the course, it didn’t go over so well, but I think part of the problem was the selections on ComiXology (which I used because they were free with the subscription) were not great. So I’m going with better readings this time.
Teaching a course this semester on how comics translate to film & TV. An eclectic mix of content. Started with something easy (Black Panther) to get everyone talking. Then: hard turn into Ghost World. Surprisingly, the students really had a lot to say about it. Feeling good. Next up: V for Vendetta.
Well, I’m here now.
