The nasty, corrupt, bullying culture in Labour that led us here has been built up over 30+ years. It's baked into Labour's DNA, when Corbyn was unexpectedly elected, that culture chewed him up and spat him out.
Labour can't be fixed, only destroyed.
I'd rather not go into WW3 led by an incompetent and corrupt man thank you very much.
He looks like the victim of a massive bullying campaign, who only stepped down because he was worried about even more bullying.
This is a good example of why "MPs are far more on touch with people than you lefties.. " is bullshit.
Feel like if the Greens win a general election there will need to be a major effort to undo the awfulness baked into our institutions by the Tories and Labour.

Lying on the bed trying to get my youngest to sleep, as he's starting to doze off, a crack of light appears at the door and I hear the words "Daddy is M asleep yet?"
M's face light's up in excitement at the sight of his brother and I have to start from the beginning again.
Iβve been shouting about HowTheLightsGetIn for years, and yet philosophers I have respected or known have continued to present, headlining alongside the likes of Curtis Yarvin and extreme anti-trans propagandists. Itβs a biannual reaction-normalisation machine
Thing I hate about the antisemitism stuff is the unevenness of it all. It's clear that some people are getting put under the microscope whereas others are getting little more than a cursory glance.
Still correct
How do you become a "grown up party" is there a "you must be this corrupt" measuring stick somewhere, or a "you must be this racist" one?
Everything I know about Heavenly comes from a Hold Steady lyric.
"She said Heavenly was cool
I think they were from Oxford
I only had one single
It was a song about a pure and simple love"
It's okay, we're laughing at the extent of Starmer's ignorance about stuff he really should have known about. Also we're mocking the site's developers because they've been saying they love AI and also the site is crashing a lot.
Amazing how both as DPP and then as Prime Minister there were gigantic scandals that you'd think Starmer, as the guy in charge would at least know about, and yet in both cases he remained in blissful ignorance π€
I'm seriously jealous of all you people going to the pub
A picture of Starmer and Mandelson with Starmer Must Go in the background with green party logo and imprint
Peter Mandelson failed his Government security vetting.
Starmer appointed him as ambassador to the US anyway.
No more buck passing, no more mysteriously vanishing mobile phones, we need the truth.
Starmer must go.
the fact that legislators are trying to say that computers are devices that require id verification and tracking to use should put fear into EVERYONE. FIGHT AGAINST THIS.
This guy calling anyone an extremist is extremely rich. His whole career has been lobbying for human misery.
Quite a shocking story this, and a pretty good reminder that the UAE is basically a corrupt dictatorship.
Not sure who needs to hear this but economic indices like inflation, GDP, wage indices etc are not truths given to us from god, but human constructed measures rife with issues.
This is not to say they're not useful, but it's always worth asking "what if the instruments are wrong"
The word I'd use is chutzpah, has anyone used that?
Β£1480 for a sofa? That's DFS money there..
I love that one of the Israeli controversies rn is a photo someone took that is being called antisemitic, and it has not been altered in any way.
Was a mid sized university town (prefer not to say more than that). Would add at this point that this was around 2004, so inflation has taken its toll. Also it was pretty grotty so cheap for the area (I think Β£400-450 was the going rate in the area).
Boomer colleague: I bought my first house for cash at 25
Old Gen X: I had a mortgage on a flat in Richmond at 25
Me (Xennial): I rented a grotty 3 bed flat for Β£295/month at 25
Gen Z colleague: I pay Β£600 a month for a room in a house I share with a complete weirdo.
Worst take of the vibecession is "maybe it's just greater visibility of the rich on Instagram etc". The comparisons I've made are with people in pretty much the same career as me. It's universal pattern, the older ones are better off, the younger ones are poorer.
The main conclusion is that Starmer's relaunch will fail unless he gets a new hat.
The difference here is that Malibu Stacey's new hat relaunch was an overwhelming success.
