Wanted to experiment and make a comic for this piece for my story about Derri. Also, in case anyone is curious why I use two names for my changeling, Daire is her given name, Derri is a nickname based on a mispronunciation of the former. But the in-story explanation for that comes later, hopefully.

Daire stared at the ceiling of her cell, restless from the constant nightmares that plagued her. She barely noticed the rhythmic tapping that approached, so trapped she was in her own thoughts that she didn't realize when they stopped. A firm voice called out at the changeling:

"Who are you?"

There's an irony in having imposter syndrome while being a changeling. I oft worry whether my art is worth anything to anyone other than myself, and while I know that popularity isn't what makes an artist it still feels weird. Hells, I'm sitting on a two-year backlog of art I dont know if I can post

Derri/Daire the half-changeling on the ground of a market, frozen in fear, her rudimentary disguise fallen apart as she doesn't know how to use changeling magic. A Royal Guard is pointing their spear at her, ready to arrest her for espionage due to her changeling features. Several figures watch the scene from the background in varying stages of shock.

"Espionage"
That was the charge the Guard declared as he brought his spear towards Daire. Her disguise fallen, for all in the market to see; with onlookers staring in shock. Her cloak open, her leg wraps unraveled, her changeling lineage laid bare. A lineage that was now a curse upon her.

I wanna start telling Daire/Derri’s story more. Friend of mine told me she feels more like a mascot than a character so I wanna try to fix that. I’ll still post my regular stuff and more, but I’ll try to make some personal art too.

Girlfriend’s also helping me write out a full story for Derri too.

Daire/Derri the changling halfling wearing a cloak and sitting under a tree in a snowy forest. She is clutching a hurdy gurdy that is partially wrapped in cloth as she rests.

Daire tried to rest in the forest outside her hometown. It was her first winter alone in the world. After the invasion of Canterlot by the changeling hive, the halfling was run out of her home by vengeful ponies. All she had left was the cloak on her back and her mother's hurdy gurdy.

A timely Applejack

It's almost Autumn which always makes me miss my days growing up near an apple orchard. Would pick apples and raspberries, letting our horses have a little of the former and giving our llamas a few of the latter. All this reminiscing is making me crave some cider now.
