On reflection, it probably has the worst story of any RE game.
I haven't liked where RE has been for over a decade but Requiem at least has a solid vision and is fun to play, getting back to series roots. It's just a shame it had to play EVERY old hit to achieve that.
Also:
- checkpoints ruin all tension for Leon
- it's too short
- tiny weapon variety
- parries still trivialise 90% of combat, at least for Leon
- no Mercenaries or any side content
- RE2 flashbacks in RPD are undermined by using scenes from Remake 2 rather than the original
Finished RE9. Thoughts:
- I HATE Grace
- mostly awful writing
- bizarrely structured
- one-hit deaths are frequent
- fighting human enemies is lame
- Mr. X, come on now
Aside from that, pretty good game. Decently fun, despite its flaws, which is more than I can say for 7, Village, 3R and 4R.
It basically did its job for me like the Dr Who 60th did. Broadly inoffensive aside from a few flaws, much less glaring ones than the Dr Who 60th. I had a good time and got in and out without getting my heart broken.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair was pretty good. I think it had enough of the energy of the original series and the cast did a great job. Lovely seeing old side-characters return as well as a bunch of old references.
Too many Hal scenes. I don't like Kelly. Jamie was lame.
Finally playing RE Requiem, and it's better than I thought it would be, definitely enjoying it more than 7 and Village, but Grace is a huge weak point. I genuinely cannot stand her. The constant stammering and whining from someone who's supposed to be an FBI agent.
RE's worst-ever protagonist.
Like 5, it's vastly improved in co-op.
My first ever TV show, detective drama BLUE SEASON, is coming soon.
I created the story and wrote all six episodes. More details re: date and platform will be shared as soon as I get them.

It sounds like Japanese director Shozin Fukui's passed away. I've not seen as much of his work as I'd like to have, only some short film stuff and his contribution to Tetsuo: The Iron Man, but he was a bizarre and talented man whose filmography I have a date with.

Still my favourite comment I've ever recieved, from the Wallace and Gromit video.
One week to go.

Not a fan of how they've changed Robin. Adding her to Drum Kingdom is one thing but she comes across far too villainous instead of a mystery to the Straw Hats. A crucial character to get right and she feels wrong.
Zero mention of the fact that Kane Parsons took the original concept from an anonymous 4chan /x/ post.

I'd actually forgotten how intensely based Dr. Hiriluk was since I last read Drum Kingdom a good eight or so years ago. Mark Harelik gave an incredibly accurate and award-worthy performance.
One Piece Live Action has been a lot of fun for different reasons but Chopper and Hiriluk's backstory was a whole different level of good. Was getting choked up even though I knew all the beats just from how good the performances were.

I watched Junk Head for the second time last night and had no option other than to jam it into my Top 20 films of all time.
I adore this film and implore all of you to give it a shot. It's bizarre and maybe alienating, but christ is it soulful from top to bottom.

Kojima in Vogue as he was DESTINED to be.
Planning the next video.
I'm not going to pretend for an instant that it isn't a brilliant show, it obviously is. But there are a few things that stick out to me as kind of undermining the rest of it. Edited down into a feature, it would be a lot closer to perfect.
As it stands I still think the graphic novel might be the best way to take in the Hedge Knight story.
I thought the flashback in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 5 was awful. A gigantic blemish on an otherwise phenomenal show.
It utterly murdered the pacing and served no purpose other than to show us things we really didn't need to see.
It should've been a no-brainer cut.
Mr. Inbetween was a fantastic show through and through. Exactly the kind of crime story that I like.

A tune and a video that never fail to cheer me up.
