Thank you. Definitely not easy, but we'll make it through.

We lost one of our dogs this week. It was sudden and a shock to us all. And it makes me think of the ways we deal with grief and how private it can seem despite it being such a universal emotion. If you survive any distance in this world, you will grieve. It's OK. It's a natural part of being alive.

This is not good. Praying they find a way to contain it.

There's a certain musty smell that always reminds me of the Spelunker's Cave to this day.

I predicted Trump would tank the economy back in 2016. It's clear now that he was only stopped by a GOP that wasn't yet fully submissive.

Oh, man. We loved going there when we lived in DC. Saw Return of the King there! Why must beauty fade?

The president of the U.S. literally did a sales pitch for one of his top donors in front of the White House today. Man, at least our super-corrupt presidents of the past tried to HIDE their corruption and give their supporters a little cover.

Blocking accounts that constantly tell me to abandon all hope. In life, there is only action or surrender. And impotent despair is surrender.

My life is full of people to the left of me politically, and so many of them are struggling to find joy right now. It's hard to see. And it makes me worried that opposition will wither beneath despair.

Got an MMR vaccine today because doc told me that, being born in the mid-70s, I probably never got a second. Anti-vaxxers are shattering herd immunity, so it seemed prudent.

In the end, I do believe in the American people and their distate of any overbearing authority. I don't believe in the Dems ability to wage a credible fight. And that's what concerns me.

Elon so blatantly bought the president that it's hard to call it corrupt. Corruption implies some subterfuge. This thing includes sweeping flood lights and a marching band.

I need my Bluesky feed to have some humor. Too much gloom and doom to make the experience anything but anxiety-producing. Recommendations for more chill follows?

Enough people have thought it that Mirriam-Webster has "idiot" as its first definition, albeit acknowledged as slang. I'd say the nimrods are winning this linguistic battle.

I've got things so tightened down that it's OK for me. But outside of that? It's all edge lords, crypto bros and porn bots.
