but she could still see the candle light making the flames in the card image seem to flicker and burn, and she felt uneasiness settle over her like a shroud.

there was something scratching, scratching, inside the door—her husband had warned the old house made sounds, but she did not believe this noise was anything that was settling.

this time their visit is cut short by lord dorren stark, who is said to have brandished a sword at prince corbyn.
“princess daenerea’s children bear the name stark, lord commander, and i will suffer no tongue that would rise against my family.”

the growing family is summoned to king’s landing by king gaemon again within a few years’ time—he misses his favorite grandchild, and desires to make her always welcome. this goes poorly, however, when rumors of daenerea’s firstborn being a bastard begin to circulate again.

however, she and lord stark were blessed only a year later with another babe, this time a son, jacaerys, who very closely resembled his father dorren. shortly after his birth it was prince baelor who rode his dragon north to winterfell to congratulate his niece and her husband.
