One thing that should be made clear, though — and you'll see this with anyone who has any kind of national profile in the media — is that there are no facts on which to accuse Roger Randle of anything, or to say he should be denied opportunities off the back of. To do so would be defamatory.

by no means the main take to be had here (indeed takes 1 to 25 should be along the lines of "fucking hell Keir"), but worth noting just how quickly moral rot can spread - all of this obviously happened because Trump won and the government needed someone morally rotten to step in to help them

(2) Thanks a lot to Tom @threeredkings.bsky.social for his thoughtful editorial. I think all Munster fans should read it and as Tom says "what i cannot do is tell you how to feel". Everyone should be able to make up their own minds. Good luck.

Come to a tough decision. I'm putting my #munster shirts away. From what I've read, I think the club has made a wrong decision. It shows the club has no feeling for the women of the province and beyond. As a London Irish supporter who refused to clap PJ this is not #rugby (1)

I'm a brit of Irish heritage (kerry) who has a complex relationship with ireland and some irish people. Munster Rugby was a way to positively engage with my irishness. I'm putting my shirts away for a while. I can't abide this.

Anyone else finding deeply black and bitter humour that Munster Rugby & Labour government seem to share god awful HR due diligence? Just me? Ah well.

Oh sure plenty of UKIC vetting on corporate/ investment into UK points out significant risk is ignored / specifically countered by benefits and by political risk of refusal

Depends on what the vetting finds.

I'm not sure about that. Seen it in corporate and sovereign world. A sort of generalised incompetence because no one is prepared to say "WTF IS GOING ON? STOP!" - So it is a cock up based on a system that doesn't work. However, other theories are just as valid

Cockup over conspiracy? I've been involved in things that looked like the later but really were the former. Various commentators with old animosity and sharp knives not necessarily helping clear the picture either as they clearly want blood. But still.... at best it's multiple, overlapping cockups

My rugby team has hired an alleged rapist. My football team is going to be relegated. Surrey look like theyre at the end of an era. English cricket so volatile not worth caring too much. Sport made me a hobbling old man and now miserable. Bugger

What’s hilarious is there’s been broad (internal) consensus within the international oil & coal industry for years

(4) With professional hat on, #Munster need best advice - and it looks like this hadn't necessarily been sought / paid for in advance of the situation. A mix of legal / corporate & #PR / reputation advisory. Challenge is - that costs. £1k per hour, easy. Can we afford it or afford not to do it?

5 days ago 0 0 0 0

(3) Was only aware of situation because I subscribe to the excellent @threeredkings.bsky.social - Tom has written carefully but thoughtfully on the issue and invites readers to read up on the situation and come to their own views. I think this is a potentially existential issue for #Munster #Rugby

(2) As a Munster fan, I fear the reputation damage of this hire could have significant corporate / financial results that will damage Munster Rugby; whether that's a loss of sponsorship revenue, or people Munster would want to hire / work with not wanting to be associated with the organisation

As a long time communications & PR advisor, I'd say to all fellow #Munster #rugby fans be very careful what you publish about the situation as you might not be as au fait with libel action as you should be (1)

If it was at the Festival hall you could (a) offer a sth London discount and (b) do an excellent pub crawl in between

You don’t fix a state like Hungary over night. Look broader WTO / post soviet states. For every Estonia there’s a Hungary. For every Poland there’s a Kazakhstan

Good. Was derelict for years. Swan was a memory of my first years working in City. Nice they kept the name, originally a nod to legendary "mucky duck" pub of Fleet Sreet lore

Used to know it as a good gastro pub in 2000s. Will pop in thanks

Deuchars had a few years in the sun when it seemed to be in every free house in the City and had a very high profile at GBBF. Then… nothing. Reminds me a little of Thornbridge

The benefit of coming to a game. Rehan Ahmed would never be described as "lithe". Man's a tank. Looks like a crash ball centre / hooker. Wouldn't want to tackle him. Moves well. Proper athlete.
