Just for clarity: @stulock.bsky.social does not do laundry every week; he gets in trouble for being incapable of removing tissues (also coins, wrappers etc.) from his pockets when he chucks things in the laundry that I DO each week.

Blimey! Also, I wonder where these schools are where under 7s are sitting on the carpet for 2 hours without moving…
Effective assessment systems should be honest and free from distortion—progress measures can compromise both. @jpembroke.bsky.social proposes tracking methods that generate better insights into school standards, especially for those needing extra support. Read it here: https://buff.ly/4jh0IWj
Also an onion bhaji… 😬🤭
Lowering standards or simplifying curricula is 'a patronizing and dangerous attitude, cloaked as kindness, that assumes certain people are capable of less because of their race or background'. George W. Bush (NOT my favourite) called this the soft bigotry of low expectations. #EduSky
Errrm…. @stulock.bsky.social we’ve been properly outdone here!
Looks amazing, Jon. Have the best day x
Sweet vindication! Have never been able to get on board with constant (or even regular) water swigging. Haven’t shrivelled up yet! 😅

Me too. Or at least, I think it having realised there’s little point to saying it!
This is a really interesting thread where @mrarobbins.bsky.social does some thinking about teacher motivation. Looking forward to hearing what else you come up with, Adam.
All these are correct. 😉
CLOSES TOMORROW

All submissions welcome!
100% agree. She’s ace! 🌟🌟🌟
I couldn’t be happier or more grateful that our children’s future is in the hands and hearts of people like @ashleymartin26.bsky.social
A very special week in the company of restless, kind and thoughtful school leaders.
*made a spelling mistake! What is wrong with me? 😳
Stuart! I did a spelling mistake and you made it public! 😱
❤️❤️❤️
It was a great privilege learning from @markmccourt.bsky.social yesterday in a preview of this day. If there are any spaces left for this I’d recommend you come and listen. Guaranteed to make you think deeply about primary maths education. @triciamoss.bsky.social @catherinelock.bsky.social
Yup. I’m with Ben on this.
I read this recently. It’s definitely stayed with me. V powerful.

This is the most important point! ☝🏼 Talking at cross purposes often about this.
📌
Came here to say this! ☝🏼 It’s likely to be heavily weighted by sector.
Definitely think it’s crucial to plan own r/w/m lessons (with support from strong specialist background work e.g. mtp) but beyond that, using something pre-designed that you can adapt for your ch is a often life saver in primary.
Cassie! Fine, both of you. Enjoy the cold. I’ll just be cosy over here with the very few sensible people in this thread.
Yep. It really can be most of September for some kids. Keep talking to her teacher (and the head if you’re worried in a week or so). But honestly, this is quite normal. I know that makes it no easier as a parent. I find it really hard with toddler/nursery and I KNOW he’ll be fine in a few mins.

You too, Sarah! Back to reality with a bump today! Enjoy the rest of the weekend 😊
