Advanced screening! Holy shit! Boots Riley does it again! Another incredibly surreal, _incredibly_ communist movie, so much going on at all times, won't say more, but the most important thing is that this is the most I have heard the phrase "dialectical materialism" in a film.

In short, an almost perfect bit of science fiction, or "sci-fi" as we call it in the biz.

Avasarala in the expanse saying WHATEVER I GODDAMN LIKE

And Shohreh Aghdashloo? Forget about it! An incredible voice, an incredible run as Avasarala, literally no-one else could play her.

Another thing I changed my mind about with this watch through was Inaros, who still isn't a great villain, but you feel this incredible desperation in everything he does. Finally, Dominique Tipper deserves so much credit for the sheer amount of pain she portrays in late-series Naomi, holy fuck.

Theres so much to be said about the worldbuilding, the battles, this endlessly twisting web of plots and schemes, the ending is rushed, but still somehow sticks the landing, ending on a surprisingly quiet note, again, despite it all.

And Amos huh? what a guy, a guy who desperately wants to do the right thing, but doesn't know what it is, this incredibly fucked up guy slowly growing a conscience by watching his friends, his tribe. Season 4 where he's clocked Murtry the moment he saw him as a killer? A man like him? Holy shit.

THE EXPANSE (2015-2022) REWATCH
Genuinely what a show, absolutely dripping with intrigue from moment one, last time I watched it I found that Holden was boring but y'know what, I liked him a whole lot more, he is uncompromising, a guy desperately trying to do the right thing, despite it all.

CAPE FEAR IS A REAL FUCKING PLACE?!

There's genuinely so much to talk about here, this dreadful escalation the whole movie, how Bowden is a pretty terrible husband and father, the sheer obsessiveness of Cady from _second one_. Bill Murray was going to play Cady?! What the fuck!?

Holy shit what a bleak and horrible movie! De Niro goes absolutely fucking crazy, Scorsese, Schoonmaker and Francis go wild with the slow zooms and incredible editing for the period, genuinely feels ahead of its time. Made me appreciate how perfect a parody Cape Feare (1993) is!
