Finally. Combo attacks working. Now a single ability action can have multiple montages in a array and combo through them during defined combo windows.
Importantly, dashing can cancel out of the cooldown getting that oh-so-good MonHun great sword feel.

The way I figure it, if we're gonna be putting a magic-user into the game we may as well have a lot of fun with it and make him wild and ridiculous. He's got a -lot- going on with his fight that's unique to him and the Magister's Robe of Punch Resistance+3 is only one of them.

Fan of the idea of game devs releasing a game and then being done with it. Esp true for indies; if you do not want to be shackled to a project indefinitely, you should be given the grace to say "This was fun, I'm gonna do something else" and then leaving your game to vibe on the store or whatever.
Tonight's project: Starting the framework for melee attacks.
Setup queues for impulses and movement locking at keyframes as well as a better way of handling upper body blending.
Also added some juice to dashing.
(The 'voice' is placeholder. No audio work done yet.)

The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all!
Games don't need VO to be good!
By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!

This is it 100% folks. Game dev is a long process and you'll have new ideas along the way that you just have to shelf and go "that's cool, maybe next game". The secret to making games efficiently is to make decisions early and be assertive about them. Then you make the game.
today i overhauled the buff system and added visual indicators to show when a character receives a buff/debuff, and their current buff state on the hud #demonsigil
like that's not the obvious or maybe even INTENTIONAL text, but it's how they treat it. they don't consider that a game on default graphics has already been pored over for hundreds of hours by a team of designers and artists and that's how it Should Look
