It's definitely a super bad look to basically defund them in the middle of the ramp-up to the Olympics. But that's probably commenting on a lot of ships that have sailed a long time ago.
They still have a modicum of leverage for their individual PLUM committees. That does matter.
For sure there should be more coverage of what's happening at NC meetings in general, no disagreement with that. It's just that I've seen many people go on the same journey I've been on where they find out about NCs and then realize they basically have no power and are just an outlet for venting.
I’m just going to be shitty for a second here and ask, how much does this functionally matter at this point? The NCs have already been functionally stripped of having any capacities beyond soliciting sentiment and making recommendations. It’s a shell of what it was created to do in the 90s.
