And the moment you think of "capacity", you can actually think of ways to climb up the ladder where you have more capacity in a day.

Then, another idea: total focus time is the wrong metric. What matters is capacity: how many usable blocks you actually get.

Here's an idea: model your day in terms of three numbers! a) how often you're interrupted, b) how long to recover, c) how much unbroken time your work needs. Simulate a few hundred days and you can see where things break. Sometimes with just one more interruption per hour.
