Thousands of people gather in central Taiwan as part of the Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage 大甲媽祖遠境. For nine days and eight nights, the sea goddess Mazu is carried 340 kilometers across central Taiwan, stopping at temples and blessing communities.

Orientalism isn't just the villianization of a people. It's to treat a people as a cartoon, to treat them as fictional characters of ones own desires. To trivialize the human experience in all its facets for a selfish goal.

The thing that's really annoying about this discourse is that Hasan has said so much ignorant shit over the years that there's a lot of very justified reasons reasons to not like him but it always gets portrayed as a vehicle for Israel-Palestine discourse
