This is because it usually just drizzles. Days with real downpour are less common.

RFK's version of science: come to a conclusion, backfill the reasoning, and kill future studies not in line with his beliefs.

There are no new studies to support this thoroughly debunked lie and NIH-funded autism research is down 26% this year.

Weird how "law and order" looks a lot like masked gangs.

Alan Dershowitz once again denied pierogi as Martha's Vineyard residents chant 'time to go'

Last night was somehow even better than the pierogi incident.

Heartbreaking when you see a patient for DKA symptoms, check their records and see that they get admitted to the hospital every 10 weeks for DKA.

Really glad to see Republicans take the doctor shortage seriously by uh... capping the amount of federal loans med students can take out to a level below what the average med student takes out.

Feels like we got the bad ending sometimes :( we had decades to address this but half of the country fought it tooth and nail

They have been paying smaller YouTubers thousands of dollars per video for pro-Russia content. I bet they're paying him millions.

I agree that the government should not be using signal to share information to external groups though, and they definitely should not be automatically sharing information from every single police interaction.

Read the article again, it's a little confusingly worded. They knowingly had someone from DHS in that group. DHS is now working on mass deportations, which is how ICE found out. The problem isn't with signal, the problem is that they were sharing law enforcement information to a group chat.

Short term, it benefits them as it'll push up the price of gas. If this becomes an extended war, this is not great for them, and they have a lot of reasons to not get directly involved (like their ongoing war with Ukraine).

I think he admires Putin, but I don't know that he's in Putin's pocket. His opinions shift with who's in his inner circle, and his first term had a lot of Putin cronies (Manafort). The people who have Trump's ear right now are rabidly pro-zionist (Waltz, Hegseth, Rubio, Stefanik, Miller, others).

He pushes any narrative Russia wants him to push, and they are partners with Iran.

They were publishing all arrest info to a signal group that was being watched by someone at homeland security. Signal is not at fault here.

It feels dishonest. If I spend two years working for someone, I'd like a bit more thought and personal effort put into a LOR. If the readers correctly interpret it as AI-written, they could perceive it as being lower quality.

Ironic that the same professors complaining about AI cheating are using chatGPT to generate letters of recommendation.

Sure, the CDC can't help states with lead poisoning investigation anymore, but maybe we'll get federally subsidized colon cleanses out of this.

Expect price increases and shortages for: consumer electronics, apparel and footwear, home goods / toys, and food / snacks (like fruits and vegetables we import from Mexico off-season, avocados, mangos).

Wish I could find the interview I listened to yesterday (NPR?), but an import-export specialist said we shouldn't have toilet paper shortages this time, but export rates are dropping like they were during covid. He expects us to notice shortages with back-to-school supplies in June.

After 21 years at my dream job, I’m very sad to announce my early retirement from the National Institutes of Health. My life’s work has been to scientifically study how our food environment affects what we eat, and how what we eat affects our physiology.
