Funny looking moose
I have a skiing joke but you'll have to weave around obstacles to get it
It's been a wild 24 hours in the Triangle.
4pm yesterday: 89.1°, SW wind gusting to 30 mph
4pm today: 39.9°, N wind gusting to 31 mph
A 49.2°F drop, multiple hours of winds 30+ — oh — and a round of very gusty thunderstorms, too (with wind damage reported not far away).
Fun day for weather fans.
No notes.
This time tomorrow, it won’t be this time tomorrow.
Walk, sploot, same thing
I’m going to need a ruling from Chris Vagasquet @coweatherman.bsky.social
Good eye! We got a couple of those when they were kittens and they STILL go nuts for them. They get stuck under the fridge sometimes, and Smudge especially will try to get them, so I'll fish them out. Occasionally, she'll act like there's one there just to watch me get on hands and knees to look.
Two cats sitting in a sunspot, looking judgmental, because cats
New sunspot, who's this?
... it's me, when I try to sleep
Can confirm here but can’t hear for the ringing in my ears
Find someone who loves you like NC State fans love free chicken
That sounds about right.
Quite!!
Seriously, my central NC friends — get outside! touch grass! open your windows! It's absolutely gorgeous and feels GREAT outside right now and will for a few more hours.
Hope you dressed in layers!
RDU has warmed a stunning *42 Fahrenheit* degrees since our low of 27° this morning. As of 3pm, we're at 69 and knocking on the door of 70.
RDU is +42 since this morning and knocking on the door of 70 as of 3pm. (Need +44 to crack the top 10 since WW2.)
Mostly correct; although, Texas Monthly's BBQ editor says Prime is in the top 3 for Texas BBQ outside of Texas. It would be a top 25 joint in Texas.
Whole hog at Sam Jones is very good. Did the brisket special yesterday, and it was OK. Better than meh but not remarkable. If that's your jam, Prime in Knightdale is not to be missed.
First time above 60° at RDU in 30 days.
Ouch!!
Thanks Russ!
"Anti-crepuscular" even less so
Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear this, Lauren. I am glad you were able to spend that sacred time with him. May his memory be eternal!
It would be the most ACC thing EVER to have the conference's only representative in the CFP — a team that didn't even play for the conference's championship — win the whole thing.
Good luck. Hope Oz comes home healthy and feisty.
The cat that was ill and at the vet on Saturday seems to have bounced back and is mostly back to being her usual impish self.
