No, but do you know who left the cake out in the rain? I think it was near a park and I’ve lost the recipe.
I got a new bestie (beastie?) His name’s Arrow
TBR - can’t decide which one to read next. Going Postal or Alchemist’s Daughter?
Years ago I was an office temp, I heard a woman ask another woman if she knew about the microfiche, and she said “no, I was never very good at biology.”
OMG like they were tiny fish!! I tell you, the amount of effort it took to keep from bursting out laughing. I nearly died on the spot.

Olive green upholstered chair & ottoman, with a fluffy grey blanket and pillow with a dog driving a race car. Left of the chair is a white elephant table with a stack of books on top. An oak file cabinet to the right. Above is a large framed pen & ink illustration of Don Quixote tilting at windmills, and a wall lamp that is a black raven with a light bulb on a cord dangling from its beak
Reading chair with new raven lamp

I also really liked Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr and the Voyage of the Narwhal by Andrea Barrett
The Overstory by Richard Powers

When I was a field ecologist, I once had a guy ask “what’s that bird that is black with a yellow head?”
He did not find it amusing at all when I responded, “umm it’s a Yellow-headed Blackbird .”
I love that when I’m riding, it counts my horse’s steps, and when we are jumping, it thinks I am climbing stairs.

When I worked at a wildlife rehab clinic, I successfully caught foxes using both of those methods. I realize foxes are not cats, and they were already injured (that’s why I was catching them), but I didn’t cause them any additional harm.
I haven’t listened to the audiobook version, but Tulipomania by Mike Dash is one of my favorite books ever. History, botany, economics, people acting crazy.

You can watch the memorial I made for my horse, if you want. I don’t know if you will think it’s sad, but it makes me cry every time.
