Xianren Shan, Bristol University, and colleagues studied the emblematic fossil Moythomasia durgaringa with SEM & SRXTMCT. They suggest that cosmine as a concept is phylogenetically uninformative and that fossils thought to be stem-sarcopterygians need to be re-classified.
