Enjoyed that Matt’s closing comments became like a 90’s Andy Gray on Sky imagining conversations between footballers.

It’s possible someone prepared for bench boost and forgot to press the button.

I also enjoyed this analysis from Colin Fray.

The answer turned out to be yes.

Chris Hughton: Nottingham Forest sack boss after six defeats in seven matches Nottingham Forest sack boss Chris Hughton after six defeats from seven Championship matches this season.

Yesterday, April 17, 2026, Nottingham Forest qualified for the semi finals of the Europa League.

This is article is from September 16, 2021.

Not even the most optimistic of #nffc fans could have seen this coming.

Enjoyable discussion, so to close… You claimed the City Ground was publicly funded.

What you have found is that one stand got partial support from the Football Trust, funded by football pools money. That came from gamblers, not taxpayers. Govt took less tax from it. It didn’t fund the stadium.

I’ve nodded to that but it’s a side issue.

The money came from people playing the pools, not taxpayers.

By your logic, anyone who gets a tax break is publicly funded.

Nice try but the Football Trust was not funded by taxpayer ‘dollars’.

You’re wrong about Forest.

The club moved to the City Ground in 1898.

It has been redeveloped repeatedly, first with supporters’ money and later by owners, including the current plans.

The council owns the freehold, Forest pays rent and will buy the freehold if/when plans are approved.

Porto is my favourite of the cities we’ve visited on this #nffc European tour.

Friendly and knowledgeable locals who want to have a chat about the game, very welcoming.

Plus sunshine, seafood rice, pastel de nata, port, vinho verde…

Fingers crossed we get to see what Birmingham has to offer.

Everton exploring legal options over lack of sporting sanctions against Chelsea Everton are exploring a possible legal challenge against the Premier League for their handling of Chelsea’s undisclosed payments sanction

If there is litigation in the Premier League then you’d better believe Nottingham Forest will be there.

Buzzing.

Great to see a few fringe players make a mark. Yatesy iconic, McAtee creative, Bakwa’s corners on the money.

Abbott had a great game. Won every duel and constantly got us back on the front foot. Much more assured in his natural centre back role.

Flights booked for Porto. #nffc

Understandable if it’s Alan Pardew. Having a pop at a foreigner for not mastering English sounds like something Jim Ratcliffe would say.

English is probably his third or fourth language.

A £10m fine is nonsense when you weigh it against a points deduction for an Everton/Forest that could relegate the club, costing £100m+.

It’s not only the trophies Chelsea won by cheating. It’s the compound benefits of prize money, Champions League qualification that today’s club benefits from.

The lady who owned my house eight years ago wants to come round with a metal detector.

Her sister dropped a gold bracelet in the garden while she lived there.

Is this the cheekiest request of all time?

And where can I hire a metal detector…?

Burnley 3-4 Brentford: How VAR denied one of the greatest Premier League comebacks Burnley were set to complete one of the greatest Premier League comebacks - until VAR intervened. BBC Sport takes a look at whether the decisions were correct.

One was offside and the other was handball. VAR correct on both occasions.

You can’t make decisions simply based on what would be the most dramatic narrative.

This graphic is misleading because the brackets for the quarter finals will not be set until tomorrow’s draw.

There is not yet a clear pathway.
