Just finished reading The Blade Artist by @irvinewelsh.bsky.social and I genuinely think it’s my favorite book of all time. I am hoping to make more artwork based on it soon, I have ideas and I’m hoping I can execute them. Heres a frank doodle in the meantime.

There’s an ad I keep hearing on podcasts where a woman is getting stressed out making Christmas dinner, and her teenage son says “Mum, I, er, made you a playlist on Amazon Music.” God, it is so unintentionally bleak. The whole interaction is so cold and joyless.

I really enjoyed this honest insight into Irvine Welsh the person and his writing. Left me with the urge to catch-up with the novels I’ve not read yet and revisit those I have.
A Few Good Men. Best in Show. A Mighty Wind. Miss Congeniality. Barcelona. All three movies in Linklater's "Before" trilogy. Music & Lyrics. Michael Clayton. All films that were able to be made because of the production company Reiner co-founded in order to give talented filmmakers creative freedom.
