I think there is a vg case for the Alternative Vote (pluralist majoritarianism) UK's evolving party system - not least as of balanced use for voters on different sides of political spectrum. It allows sincere voting by every voter + strategic choices by those who care

Cool claws for clinging on when going down!
So brave to write along a personal and professional line. But also a really important and valuable thing to do!! Well done Emma.
Hello lovely Asan in the sunshine!
We desperately need to train staff of the future to be able to work in the NHS if the future! And they seems to really love it!
We have recently received some fantastic blogs from doctors in training who have worked in a variety of Hospital at Home services:

Embarrassed at how NHS treats trainees. Have trainee due to start GP training induction today. My colleague asked one week ago for reference. Funnily enough in July, she’s on leave & not replied. Poor trainee, through no fault of their own, not even allowed to start induction. Pitiful & infuriating
This is going to be a fantastic conference!! Are you curious about how HAH works? Do you want to increase your skills?? Are you working in a virtual ward- they’re the same thing!! Join us!!
I often say it’s like doing an abdominal assessment and coming up with the diagnosis of tummy ache! 😣
Excellent NHS care, delivered at home.
We're expanding Hospital at Home to 2,000 beds by the end of 2026 - watch this to find out how it will help ease pressure on the NHS and cut waiting lists. 👇
Great to meet the lovely NHS staff at @nhsforthvalley.bsky.social who deliver the Hospital at Home service.
We’re expanding it to 2,000 beds across Scotland by the end of 2026 - meaning more patients treated at home, shorter waiting lists, and more space freed up in hospitals.
Did you know it is estimated that #delirium goes undiagnosed in more than 50% of cases? Take our course 'Reducing Risks for Older Adults' to learn best practices for identifying older adults who are at risk for poor outcomes >> buff.ly/4jdRcDs #hpm #hapc
We are lucky- we have an ED consultant with us and he just phones people- they seem to have direct phones for SDEC etc which we don’t know about!
That’s fantastic! Thank you!!
I would suggest using the SPOA team instead. We have a team of doctors and ACPs hanging out in ambulance offices pulling patients from the stack and offering alternatives to conveyance. Expert knowledge of community offers and non ED offers including urgent OPD/SDEC essential.
Amazing photo!!
I think both would be great. This provoked much discussion at work today within my team and also local hospital!
A stuffed stork with an arrow through its neck – it’s that very stork, now found in the zoological collection at the University of Rostock.
202 years ago today, this stork was shot in the village of Klütz in northern Germany. It already had a 30-inch arrow in its neck. The arrow was made of African wood, and this first ‘Pfeilstorch’ (‘arrow stork’) played a pivotal role in the understanding of bird migration.
Excellent review. I run a hospital at home service and we talk about this often. Sometimes the staff and patients/carers want to iv because it makes them feel they’re doing their best!
Many households in Medway are feeling the pressure of the cost of living. Medway Council’s Household Support Fund offers government-backed help with essentials like school uniforms, energy or water bills, and other vital needs. You don’t need to be on benefits to apply. Apply here: buff.ly/xqjW0ZP
Excellent report on virtual wards and hospital at home just published. Nice to see @ukhahsoc.bsky.social members contributions. Also reference to @arc-gm.bsky.social @gerisoc.bsky.social publications.
