func_detail is outside of the BSP - it requires ad-hoc sorting (or read/write z-buffer), again perf hit is significant (well, assuming your engine supports func_detail, mine doesn't)
nice page - func_wall is a double edged sword, it moves static geometry to regular polygon land, not cool imho
