This collection by @spicycloaca.bsky.social delivers on the gore, the poetry, and perhaps most importantly, a wondrous matrimony of the two unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

"Tabula Rasa" by Amy Kitcher - Seize The Press An old-fashioned auto-V glides to a stop at the embarkation point, its curved roof gleaming wet in the drizzle like the carapace of a beetle. The passenger door slides open with a faint hydraulic hiss...

First and foremost this is a great story about sex work, misogyny, and patriarchy, but it also just has some really fucked up alien sex and guys being absolute freaks.

"Tabula Rasa" by Amy Kitcher is now free to read!

Just finished this book, and it is trippy and intense, and full of earnest self-searching, for what it means to be ready for what you were meant to hold. ✨@ivygrimes.bsky.social

happy that my @chmmagazine.bsky.social greasy, grim (sort of) historical whaling story, "Greasy Luck," made the shortlist! congratulations to the other shortlisters - there are so many beautiful stories stacked in this one

I recently learned there’s a concept in clowning that goes like this, “The suffering is the offer.” And, holy hell, what a gorgeous view of art and authenticity.

This boils down to , if I put phone down to watch movie , & you show me phone , no & fuck you , you fail "the Bubul test"

1 week ago 10 1 1 0

If the movie has a scene with super-imposed "text message bubbles" , it fails "the Bubul test" . If there's a scene where the "is texting" ellipsis is on screen then disappears , & a character looks sorta disappointed , the movie fails "the Bubul test" and gets turned off immediately
