Hi! I’m the inventor of bathroom stalls. The important thing for me is that everyone walking by a stall is able to make eye contact with the person sitting on the toilet inside. This is a critical design feature.

NYT: US Fertility Rates Drop to Another Record Low The fertility rate has been falling since 2007, in large part because of a plunge among teenagers

There are some clues in the age breakdown: The fertility rate for teenagers dropped by 7 percent from 2024’s figure, setting another record low for the group. Since 2007, the rate for teenagers is down by 72 percent, and since 1991, when teenage fertility rates were at a high, the rate is down by 81 percent.

Nobody assumes the CEO of Toyota must be some sort of brilliant engineer, but we have for some reason developed this collective notion that being a successful tech CEO must make you a tech genius.

I know it makes people squirmy when I say it, but this is why it really matters that Trump is a sexual predator.

"She wants me to rape her" is rapist logic. Of course he applies it to people he also wants to murder.

People should actually be very alarmed that while AP's business model is shot to bits, Americans are still very much reliant on the news it delivers. The alternatives in some cases are inferior or non-existent.

There is a path. It’s the path that Michael Vick walked. He has worked with the Humane Society for the last 17 years to educate folk about animal cruelty. He says he’ll do that work for the rest of his life.

Constitutional lawyer here. I don't think it would violate the Constitution for the VP/Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, but the intended constitutional remedy for this behavior is impeachment & removal. The fact that that remedy is politically impossible is a scandal and a crisis.

Wow this war we've already won that we didn't need to get Congressional approval for because it's not actually a war against a country that was two weeks from getting a nuclear weapon that it will never have because we destroyed their nuclear program last year is really going badly today.

And a lot of people, many in positions of power, did a lot of things to cover it up and silence those women. For years. Just so we’re all clear, for the millionth time, he wasn’t sorry and he didn’t have consent. Anyway. Glad that’s all over and stuff like that never happens anymore. 🤡

to be sure, another reason to be vigilant about the use of AI in creative spaces is because even when backlash is available it is only leveraged against marginalised communities, and there is a habit to not take certain communities at their word even when real bad actors are forthcoming about AI use
