It’s my birthday tomorrow. Not one to make a fuss but as I’m early turn Thursday, the beer came tonight instead.

Didn’t mind it to start with and I don’t even mind the odd IPA now (classic style), but the very hoppy contemporary ones all sort of taste the same.

Today that approach has royally bitten them on the arse. If it could break, it did.

Even here in a fairly rural but of the south it’s wall to wall IPAs, NIPAs etc. And so many craft breweries in barns making hop juice.

There always used to be a relationship between the parallel tracks of the symbol and the lowercase x-height; this is nonsense (just like making the whole symbol the same as cap-height, which makes the symbol too small)
