For years, the CA Department of Insurance has been able to examine insurers' business operations and identify problems that deserve correction, but have lacked the enforcement authority needed to compel corrective action.

Mobilehome parks are the largest source of unsubsidized affordable housing in the nation.

Proud to have introduced #SB1092 and #SB1093 to strengthen protections that preserve this important homeownership opportunity and safeguard residents' rights post disaster.

Fires burn swiftly, but insurance battles linger: New bills propose consumer-friendly regulations California lawmakers roll out new bills attempting to further regulate insurance companies like State Farm.

Excited to be coauthoring #SB877 & #SB878 (Perez) to increase transparency & protections for insurance policyholders.

Californians deserve to know how their loss estimates are calculated, and they definitely deserve a more rapid resolution to their claim.

Let's use this moment to reflect on the scapegoating of a marginalized group that led to such atrocities - turning us against one another to distract from real solutions. We must learn from these lessons so we never repeat these mistakes. #NeverAgain

Special thanks are due to our friends in Santa Monica who helped provide a temporary campus at the old Sears building which provided a welcoming environment for our displaced kids.

Thank you to administrative and local leaders who helped us get here. As students make their return, we need regular and transparent testing and monitoring of toxins so families can be confident their kids are learning in a safe and healthy environment.

Palisades Charter High School returns home after fire, marking a new chapter of recovery On Tuesday morning, students will be greeted by faculty, student ambassadors, and the Pali High band as families, alumni, and neighbors line the streets to welcome the campus back to life.

An important milestone for displaced families and students. I hope returning to their home campus can provide a sense of familiarity and normalcy that has long been missed.

A bill has been introduced in Congress that would move us backwards and re-enable the greenwashing of American consumers. Rep. Randy Weber must respect states' rights and CA's truth-in-labeling policy that provides corporate accountability and consumer confidence.
