Flying with my buddy this weekend, getting to take the plane into some crazy banks!
I-5, central California.
In my heart I’ll always be a guy from Pittsburgh, but of all the states in the union I could have ended up in, I’m proud that it’s this one.
Vlog update for September: editing finishes on MERCY // new projects teased.
Every scar is proof of something that wasn’t strong enough to kill you.
Snaps from the hike today: Sony a5100/kit lens/Adobe Lightroom+Photoshop
My partner went to a conference with Mattel, about the importance of creativity and play in children AND adult, and she brought me back this cool 80th anniversary Hot Wheels car… so I gave it its due close up:

Current (very timely) read: DuBois’ prose, even in this biography, is breathtakingly beautiful to read.
Annual viewing of the greatest pirate movie ever made (sorry Disney), CAPTAIN BLOOD (1935), starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Haviland, Basil Rathbone and Lionel Atwill (along with a bevy of amazing character actors). Directed by a pre-CASABLANCA Michael Curtiz!

Terminal Island:
Today seemed like an appropriate day to visit the Japanese Fishing Village Memorial on Terminal Island. It commemorates the people who lived & fished here, until our government rounded them up during WWII and put them in internment camps without trial, confiscating most of their homes and property.

Stay strong, Chicago.
Can’t see a thing in these.
I was challenged to go take some pics with a 15 year-old Sony cybershot (pictured), to test to what it can actually do in the hands of a ‘real’ photographer (whatever that means these days).
It defiantly has its limitations, but overall I was really impressed.
Probably more, judging from most men these days.
A play in two acts:
I’m digitizing a bunch of old Hi-8 video footage, and the sounds and feel of this old Sony camcorder have been making me nostalgic, so I made this. #sony #retrocam #vintagecamcorder #hi8
Torrance, CA today. I drive by these tracks twice a week at least now for years… always wanted to get a shot when train cars are parked there. Today I had a spare moment AND my mirrorless camera with me— it was 99 degrees so I didn’t take overlong, but I like the shot. Sony NEX 7/135mm zoom lens.
Great shot.
My friend William Ford (Cobra Kai) did a little impromptu shoot this week.

Digitizing old hi-8 video footage with my feline assistant.
People really think just because they like something, that imparts to them some kind of ownership. There’s a reason it’s called intellectual *property*.
This one old room at wife’s school is giving me serious grade school flashbacks
