This ought to be essential viewing! 📺
@squidgerugby.bsky.social raises very important points about Welsh identity, and the wider cultural meaning of decline and neglect. As a proud Welshman, I always love seeing Wales performing on an international level, so this really hit me #Wales #Welsh #Rugby

Cardiff clinched automatic promotion back to the Championship with a 3-1 League One victory at Reading.
Bore da! ☀️
Just listened to a really insightful episode from the Institute for Fiscal Studies ahead of the Senedd elections.
It’s massively important that more of us in Wales engage with this kind of content before voting in May - it’s great to see serious, Wales-focused analysis like this!
A major new archaeological project is set to investigate a vast cave hidden beneath a Welsh castle, where early excavations have already uncovered some of the most significant prehistoric finds in Britain
Really enjoying all the content from @willhaycardiff.bsky.social about Wales and Welsh politics
I really need to get on and read his book! 🫠

Excellent lecture here by Professor Richard Wyn Jones and Dr Ed Poole of the Wales Governance Centre, Cardiff University, on the latest data before the May 2026 Senedd election. Mae'n werth gwylio if you want to understand the polls, voter shifts, and the new system. 📊😊

What I would love to see is a majority of politicians who want to enable positive climate action projects
And I would love to see more initiatives improving the natural world within Wales and beyond and, when these projects happen, to see the Welsh media telling these stories more effectively 🌳 💬
Exciting times ahead!
Honestly can't wait for the 7th May! 🏴

'In the medieval European imagination, racial difference was often highly polarised....Yet, as my research demonstrates, the game of chess offered an alternative lens, creating a space in which players – regardless of their skin colour – could engage as equals.' 1/2
That is amazing! 😯
Where did they travel to in the USA?
I really hope you're enjoying the experience!
Nothing wrong with connecting up with some Welshies living in America at all! I want to write about some of that history at some point!! 😁
Hi Cai, thanks for your comment! 🙂
For me, there are differences between Wales and other revolutionary parts of the world at that time
Also the Welsh did not really work with the 'Crown' forces, but they did defend themselves against the French, who were mainly disorganised men drawn from prisons

Gerald of Wales has set off across South Wales in 1188… but he’s far more interested in collecting strange stories than describing the journey.
Saintly curses, weird animals, moral punishment — I’ve tracked all 40 of them!

Will we have any Labour politicians by the end of May? 🤔

Another article from my Favourite Welsh Mind.
Hari Berrow speaks about the devilish weather we have been experiencing in Wales for the last few months.
And she convinced me by mentioning dinosaurs! 🦕
Give it a listen! 👂

As a fellow Caerphilly born Welshman, Tommy will have to make an appearance in Famous Welsh Minds at some point! 🎤
Very happy about this! The week has been stunning in Wales with all the daffodils raising their heads ☀️❤️

New article this morning. In March and April 1188, Gerald of Wales set out on a journey through Wales! I will be writing a series of articles to show his progress, and some of the stories he found out about that time.

Happy this morning to find a new podcast from @wales-in-context.bsky.social a Welsh politics podcast. Kay does a brilliant job explaining key issues.
This topic - civic and political education in Wales - is very close to my heart!
Please give it a listen! 😊

Will have to do some analysis of this Famous Welsh Man soon! 👀
I hope you've enjoyed your stay!! 😊
Love this. How do we go about engaging with #Welsh diaspora? I wonder how many people of Welsh heritage actually live around the world.
The latest pod is out.
This time we talk about Labour's campaign launch in Wales and Reform's manifesto.
Hope you enjoy!
