Fuel costs: Ministers to approve £100 oil payment for lower income households It's understood the Executive has pledged £19m to go along with the £17m already set aside for the scheme.

This short-term support is welcome for households struggling with the cost of home heating oil. Delivery of the payment must now be timely, with clear information on how to apply. The Northern Ireland Executive must also urgently enable Discretionary Support grants for fuel.

You may be more likely to fall into debt because of the way you pay for your energy. This #DebtAwarenessWeek, speak to your supplier about the best way for you to pay.

Over a quarter of NI households told us in our
@lucidtalk.bsky.social poll that they have been sitting in a cold home wearing coats, blankets or using a hot water bottle within the last 24 months. This is due to rising energy prices and the cost of living. #FuelPoverty
