The military acronym that describes the Hormuz blockade is F.U.B.A.R. Look it up.
Why Trump’s new elections executive order is unconstitutional and unworkable, from Chris Hardee (@stereotopical.bsky.social), former division head at DOJ:
In the most unintended way, maybe the war will deter Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons. Because Iran has discovered it already possesses the power to nuke world energy supplies.

It would amount to government control of the AI sector. It would also violate the First Amendment rights of the companies and individuals who seek to ensure that these new forms of intelligence are safe for humanity.
The DPA provides no authority for DOD to require a company to violate its own engineering and safety policies. It requires only that a company prioritize DOD contracts over others. DOD seeks to dictate the fundamental safety decisions of a private company.
The supply chain risk designation of Anthropic, after it insisted on guardrails for DOD’s use of its systems, is unlawful. DOD had threatened to use the Defense Production Act to require the firm to give DOD the capability DOD wants. This has received less attention. The DPA gives no such authority.
Congress’s only meaningful war power is the power of the purse, which is never used.
Democrat posturing about an Iran “War Powers Resolution” is theatrics. It is not a law because it would be vetoed, so it’s a nullity. And the labeling confuses this with the resolution required under the War Powers Act to authorize hostilities beyond 60 days. The WPA is a dead letter.
All this talk about a “War Powers Resolution” is cynical theatrics. The resolution has zero legal effect. It is not a law. And the rhetoric confuses it with the congressional resolution required under the War Powers Act to authorize force past 60 days. That WPA requirement is a dead letter.
See here for my take that it is a bad idea for a government agency to have unchecked authority to arrest people on the street.

The attack on Iran violates the declare war clause, will soon violate the War Powers Resolution's 60-day clock, and violates the UN Charter, which is part of US law as a treaty the President took an oath to execute faithfully. See here for an explanation 👉 substack.com/@stereotopic...
