The electorate should vote for political parties “who want to see climate justice”, the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham Usher, the lead bishop for the environment, has said. He was backing a new film on the climate crisis aimed at churches

Happy St George’s Day.
St George stood for courage, community and protecting the vulnerable - not drawing lines between people. His cross chooses hope, not fear.
Loving England at its best means valuing fairness, decency, and respect for everyone who calls this land home.
Today is #EarthDay 🌍
I invite you to join us today in this prayer, written by the Bishop of Norwich.
We are part of God’s creation living in the earth, but with a special responsibility to care for creation, to mind its well-being and its flourishing. Make us more like Jesus we pray.
Today is Earth Day. What a place!
A few photos of the little bit where I’m the temporary caretaker.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. Psalm 24.1
Antisemitism has always been a light sleeper. It is horrendously wide awake at present. I condemn utterly what is happening and remain deeply concerned for the Jewish community. www.dioceseofnorwich.org/bishop-graha...
As we remember the centenary of The Late Queen’s birth, we give thanks to God for her long life of Christian witness, her compassion for those in need, and her devotion to duty. We pray that we might be inspired by her example, serving others with steadfast hearts and merciful hands, in Jesus’ name.
BBC Songs of Praise have done a great job capturing the significance of the Royal Maundy Service and celebrating the incredible Christian service of the recipients. “As I have loved you, so you are to love one another.” www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
10 baptised and 31 confirmed at Gresham’s School in Holt this evening. “I have called you by name and made you my own.”
Congratulations to St Mark’s Oulton Broad - A Rocha UK GOLD Eco Church.
A great joy to present the congregation at St Mark’s Oulton Broad with their A Rocha GOLD Eco Church award - the first in @diocese ofnorwich.bsky.social - and attend their community green day involving lots of local eco charities.
Earlier this week I had a great visit to the new Norfolk Wildlife Trust urban nature reserve at Sweet Briar Marshes in Norwich with CEO Eliot Lyne. Good walk and talk, seeing the impressive work being done along this relic of the River Wensum’s wet meadows.
Good to have The Revd Alan Bartlett from @durhamdiocese.bsky.social to lead a bishop’s study morning for licensed clergy exploring wellbeing and good habits for ministry.
Cowslips galore in the orchard at Bishop’s House at present.
A rather lovely short post-Easter break in ‘Streams’, a wonderful new treehouse in Swanton Woods next to the head waters of the Stiffkey chalk stream in North Norfolk - available through www.canopyandstars.co.uk
Peace in the midst of ancient woods and next to a National Nature Reserve.
Christ is risen!
Immense gratitude to all across @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social who have contributed to the liturgy, music, decoration and welcome of our churches this Holy Week and Easter. Thank you for your service, and may you now have some joyous rest.

Awe inspiring new view of our single island planet home captured by Artemis II astronauts travelling around the far side of the moon. We have no planet B.

Beautiful Good Friday service at @norwichcathedral.bsky.social
A glorious Royal Maundy service at St Asaph Cathedral. Very moving to hear a number of recipients exchange words in Welsh with HM The King.
Yr wyf yn rhoi i chwi orchymyn newydd, carwch eich gilydd. Fel y cerais i chwi, felly yr ydych chwithau i gari'ch gilydd
A joy to know this is all going on above my study window on the other side of the spire.
Holy oils, to be used across @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social at baptisms, confirmations, ordinations and to anoint the sick and dying, were blessed at The Chrism Eucharist in @norwichcathedral.bsky.social
Ministers, deacons, priests - and bishops - also committed ourselves anew to our calling.
Ahead of the Royal Maundy service at St Asaph Cathedral on Thursday, I spoke to BBC Radio Wales: @bbccymruwales.bsky.social
Appalling that on this Palm Sunday Israeli security forces prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pizzaballa, and the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Ielpo, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for prayers. Total disregard for the freedom of religious belief.
Good to be with the folk at St Michael and All Angels, Bunwell, this morning for Palm Sunday - to baptise Ily and Debbie, and to confirm Debbie as well. Hosanna in the highest!
I’m joining the global Earth Hour now by turning off non-essential lights for the next hour. Small actions add up to make a difference. It’s time to act for climate and nature. Time to switch off.
