Posts by Cllr Stephen Jenkinson
Cllr Jenkinson said: "The best decisions are always grounded in clear evidence and robust data; the worst are always made in the middle of an election.

The Jenkinson family pets enjoying the sunshine today. Winifred the cat, Brian the tortoise and Angus the dog.
There is a worrying trend of ASB directed at drivers which should concern us all. I hope the driver is ok and those involved are caught and charged.

It was great to be out speaking to voters in Oxgangs with Catriona Munro for Edinburgh South Western this morning before the worst named storm (Dave) in history hit. Who knew a priceless work of art was protecting a bin chute in Oxgangs Crescent?
Frustrating further delays to the delivery of Dalmahoy junction.

Interesting article here on how transport infrastructure investment can help to tackle inequality and poverty.

I love these Evening News articles with old images of Edinburgh. This one is focused on Wester Hailes in my ward.

Once introduced and residents and visitors see and feel the benefits of CPZ’s in their area they rarely want to return to the free for all of old. The policy is sound and only introduced in areas with notable parking issues currently.

I enjoyed the Spokes Scottish Parliament Election Hustings last night. The format worked well, we had some tough questions from the floor and a good humoured debate. 🚴♀️

Nothing happens until TEC revisits the vote. Further consultation is unnecessary in my opinion.
In light of this decision my Transport & Environment Committee will now have to revisit the vote taken on the Braids Estate LTN.

My concern here is we have spent a decade discussing George Street and delivered nothing. Unless there is some compromise across the political groups in the Council we’ll still be talking about ‘what should be done’ with Princes Street in 2036!

👏👏👏
Thinking of everyone in Clovenstone after the stabbing in Clovenstone Gardens. Hoping the man injured makes a full recovery. Incidents like this affect whole communities — wishing residents strength and support. Safer streets for everyone should always be the goal.

My wee dog Angus has just won first place at Crufts in the dog grooming intermediate asian fusion competition. I’m so proud of Angus and delighted for Kristie Rowe at Howl and Hound 👏👏👏

It was a real privilege to attend Craig Gordon’s testimonial dinner tonight at Tynecastle Stadium. Even won a signed strip in the raffle as a bonus 👍
It’s a Saturday so must be another positive door knocking session with Daniel Johnson MSP in Buckstone 👏👏👏
🚨Calderglen EYC. Due to a problem with the roof and the associated costs in fixing it the Council has taken the difficult decision to demolish the building. The children will be relocated to surrounding nursery’s and parents have been informed.

I am really proud of the work my good friend Dr Scott Arthur MP and his team have done with this bill. A very worthwhile endeavour and a law that will change and save lives. 👏

I’m pleased Lothian Buses are committed to electrifying their fleet instead of banking on hydrogen — a decision that will deliver cleaner air, lower emissions, and a more sustainable transport future for our city. ⚡🚌

We struck a good deal for Edinburgh yesterday. Scotlands lowest council tax rise at 4%, one that protects vital services and invests in infrastructure while easing pressure on households.

Can’t believe they are still bothering to publish this rubbish.
Cllr Cowdy conveniently doesn’t mention he would cut services and jobs to fund his £9m single year Council Tax cut. 🤔
