Lovely tribute to Andy Perry from @stokesie.bsky.social. AP was a brilliant journalist, an original rocker and the most wonderful chap. www.musicweek.com/talent/read/...

If you’re in or near London on 7 May, why not come and see Richard Jobson and me talk about Stuart Adamson, the Skids and rock’n’roll books with Keith Cameron?
This Saturday! Looking forward to discussing my #Manics book in Redditch, birthplace of John Bonham and home to the former Workshop Studios where New Art Riot was recorded 36 years ago.

My @mojomagazine.bsky.social review of the superb new Stuart Adamson biography by @scottrowley.bsky.social. www.mojo4music.com/articles/sto...
With Iggy Pop touring England (not Britain) Elektra have rereleased the first two albums from the band he led in the early 19705. These are two real gems and as such should be included in any collection of important rock material. The first album is faultless and includes several Stooges and Iggy anthems which he has been doing on his present tour. Iggy reflects his frustration of the time in the opening track "1969" • Another favourite "I Wanna Be Your Dog" is followed by the ten-minute chant "We Will Fall." The "Funhouse" album continues the frantic display of energy from Iggy and his band. Tracks like "Down on the Street," "TV Eye" and "Dirt" will be all too familiar to Stooges followers. Beat track on the album is "1970" which has an infectious riff and Iggy exclaiming "I Feel Alright"
49 years ago today, The Stooges and Funhouse were re-released and the Wishaw Press, far ahead of most of the other regional papers reviewed them. Along with the recently released Television album.
Diolch!

Keith Cameron's book about Manic Street Preachers
Finished 168 Songs of Hatred and Failure by @keithcameron2.bsky.social. Real, heartfelt thanks to him for giving the Manics back to me. I have picked up the conversation where I left off (Journal for Plague Lovers FWIW). If you are a lapsed fan, you need this book. 🙏
Thanks Andy, my work here is done.
Had fun chatting to Dan Jennings @wellerfanpod.bsky.social. Featuring the time I saw the Modfather wearing a British Gas sweatshirt. paulwellerfanpodcast.com/keith-cameron/
What's happening to you, Milton? It's a big old Guardian feature, that's what. With a film about Ted, made by his own family, coming soon, I chatted with him about his poetry, puppetry and wayward life and times, with Roger Law of Spitting Image spitting facts
