I was definitely a grasshopper. I have told my wife very directly that I know I've fallen ass-first into every good thing in my life, and that includes her. πŸ˜†

I dunno man, if people unfollow you for your takes on here then I guess they aren't listening to your podcasts and have no idea how bad it can get. πŸ˜„

Sometimes I think of all the "enjoy it while it lasts" advice I got over the years. And in truth, I think a major problem might be that I did a LOT of enjoying, and should have been even a little more constructive than I was. πŸ˜…

DUH. Of course Magmatron is taller, he's standing on a hill!

"It's not that we're bad at this, it's that our site is vulnerable!"

I don't think that's the argument they think it is.

He worked at the same Arby's, that's just what everyone at that location looks like eventually.

Smash cut to Dr. F giving "adopt-a-sperm-whale" certificates to everyone he knows for 14 Christmases in a row.

Resolve back to Tom. "That doesn't make sense AND it doesn't answer the--" Tom's dome explodes again.

I always enjoy when Backerkit says it's found a better address for me than the one I picked, and it's just my regular address but in all caps. It's like buying stuff from the Beastie Boys

Of course not, Clayton would never cheat on Frank like that!

I assumed that Kinga was the result of a cloning experiment. Kim Cattrall's DNA (procured at an autograph session via "Handshake Gene-Thief Mk.9" device) was used to stabilize the process and prevented her turning out like Synthia.

No no no, Laserblast is just when Gizmonic realized Dr. F still had a company credit card and canceled it. πŸ˜†

"But my funding!"
"The hell? Funding? That was for things like gas and lunch."
"Yes, gas. My rocket fuel budget, of course."
"No! What sort of limit did we give you?!"

I called Dr. F a "clerical error who lives in the sub-basement" because I really think he's in a situation like Milton from Office Space. He hasn't "worked" there in years and they all keep thinking he'll just leave on his own, but no one goes down to check on him so they don't know it's his home.πŸ˜„

Something I think about is how difficult it must be to be the English language expert in some of these countries who have an adversarial relationship with the United States

β€œThat doesn’t sound right. Check it again.”

β€œI assure you, that’s what he said”

β€œIs he insane?”

β€œHe’s…hm….he is stupid.”

If memory serves, Forrester hired Frank and Frank in turn hired Mike. So that explains how they might have circumvented the Gizmonic hiring practices. πŸ˜„

It's interesting how the GI canon (such as it is) shows us that even their blue-collar workers bring incredible-if-unfocused skills to the table. Joel is apparently a janitor, although with a "brilliant" mind for parts-on-hand engineering. Jonah is a cargo pilot and also the coolest guy they know.

A photographer took pictures of people before and after she called them beautiful.

A Gizmonic Institute show should be a scifi series with dramatic, sweeping tales of dedicated professionals regularly doing the impossible in both time and space!

And every now and then the clerical error who lives in the sub-basement comes up to get a box of pens from the supply closet.

in the early days of the net websites used to have messages like "welcome to my amazing webzone, i hope you enjoy the things i've collected that represent my strange mind." now they're just like "by clicking this box you agree to recieve targeted advertisements in your dreams"

I assume this is his "mouth" front and center here? I saw that as some sort of grill.

Heck, why even melt down the humans if he has an actual mouth? It makes more sense if he has no mouth and eats a "liquid diet".

Similar thing with comics. I see no point to collecting comics I don't want to read, so I tend toward trades and collections. As a result my kid barely knows what floppies even are. She has zero concept of comics having value. But she LOVES reading comics.

FFS my toy collection is worth more than I want to think about. I spent this morning messing with MASK shelves that are probably worth a few grand. I don't actually know their value. I collect them because I like toys. My kid can play with them any time she wants. Because that's what they're for!

I want to go back in time and repeatedly kick his dad in the junk.

Not because I don't want him to have kids, because I want him to teach his kid better lessons. He can start with "collecting toys (or comics) for their value leads to getting kicked in the junk".

About a year ago an Ollie's opened up in my town. I was super excited, but somehow they never seem to have any of the cool stuff I see at other Ollie's or people report online.

I still manage to spend way too much money there... πŸ˜…

So Mad Karnock actually calls himself "mad", is able to ingest organic matter for sustenance, and talks about his mouth(?) watering(??).

I'm not knocking it, I wouldn't have questioned it at all as a kid. It sets up some interesting stories that I guess are only told by playing with the toys. πŸ˜„

True story, in like 2003 my mom stumbled on the 1992 Galileo ornament "in the box", paid way too much for it, and sent it to me.

The box was empty. πŸ˜“
