Alex Pretti was a nurse. His last act on Earth was to try and protect another person he witnessed being assaulted.
He deserves to be remembered as a generous soul who strove to save human lives.

I had never considered this stance, but you make a fantastic point! On the one hand, I wish such a well-spoken orator could run for President, but on the other, it frees him up to be honest without keeping the pursuit of higher office on his mind.
I am so glad Mamdani can’t run for president, and I mean that in the most complimentary way - he’s an excellent, moral, ethical communicator and the fact that he’s literally barred from the presidency means no dipshit columnist can use a presidential run as a lever to twist his message.

The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.
