Tis true.
"Finding the smallpox to be spreading much and fearing that no precaution can prevent it from running thro’ the whole of our Army, I have determined that the Troops shall be inoculated." - General George Washington, 6 Feb 1777

Between this and forgetting to feed the troops, we’re like 7 months away from a scurvy outbreak in the US navy
“Making the troops get vaccinated” is literally a foundational principle of the US Army
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis is a rare but fatal side effect of #measles infection, which manifests years after a kid recovers. This story of a family who lost a 10-year old to it is heartbreaking. Renae was too young to be vaccinated when she caught measles. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/21/o...
Measles is NOT "just like chickenpox". It can kill years later. This woman was so brave for coming forward with her story.

Amazon saw lower prices at competitors and urged the brands to pressure those competitors to raise their prices, which they did. In writing. @robbonta.bsky.social has the receipts of this cartel behavior.

A narrow flight of stairs led down to the basement, where the models lived in two small bedrooms that were cramped with bunkbeds – two in one room, three in the other. An additional mattress was located in a common area near the stairs. At times the apartment could be occupied by 11 or more people. We are heard it into the small spaces“ Kaite said.“The apartment was like a sweat shop“. Trump model management recruited models as young as 14. “I was by far the oldest in the house at the ripe old age of 18“ Anna said.
does John have to invite him? Barbara Pilling, also then an elite model, told us Trump asked her out for dinner in the summer of 1989 and an industry soirée. She recalls Trump asking how old she was. “I was 17 and he said, that’s just great – you’re not too old, not too young.”
it’s wild to me how there has been such in-depth reporting into Donald Trump‘s use of his modeling agency and beauty contests as a front for him and his pedo friends to get their rocks off, and somehow it never quite sticks. The reporting on his modeling agencies is especially harrowing.
I simply love that he’s finishing his career by going city to city and reminding everybody what a huge asshole he is
Carefully folded origami crane would really fuck em up
Meticulously setting up the cameras I bring along for this very purpose, it won’t actually save me but at least everybody will get some kickass content to post on social media
THREAD: The IEA global energy review 2026
* CO2 record high, but growth nearly ground to halt
* Clean energy shaved 3bn tonnes off CO2
* Fossil-fuel power pushed into reverse
* Age of Electricity "confirmed"
* "Extraordinary" solar growth
* Batteries up 40%
* EVs up 20%

Idk when he was last in Vegas but he’s been citing his Bastille Day visit to Paris as his inspiration here
Saying this partly to remind myself and partly to remind all of you: a fair bit of vibe-curdling happens on this site on Sundays between the hours of 7:30 and 11 PM EDT. It's a good time to log off.
Ah I see what you mean - I guess that would be accounted for by how bad her opponents were - Diehl and the email inventor guy
lol fuck off, I’m on vacation why am I arguing with a buffoon
-Makes up shit
-Says it proves their point
-Throws in some indignant insults for good measure
He basically didn’t have an opponent though
That’s just a flat out invented statistic. 2/3 of MA voters are unaffiliated/independent. Only something like 25% are registered Democrats.
-Says Warren is not popular
-Warren wins her last two elections by 20 and 24 pts
Ok yeah sure thing
She “underperformed” Harris in 2024 by a whopping 1.3%
She came in 3rd because the primary electorate had already mostly consolidated at that point and it was clear she was on her last legs. The only time she meaningfully “underperformed” was her first election where she was facing incumbent Scott Brown. She won in 2024 by ~20 points
So, PUAs
44% of Americans are very worried about climate change — among the highest levels since 1989 — and 63% believe the US government is not taking enough environmental action, the highest since @Gallup.com started polling the question in 1992.
Yeah I think the claim here is “y’all claim people cared about mitigation but they only really cared in the beginning”
Right, like, if Romney took over the Trump government tomorrow you have to ask what steps he would take to reform and the answer is probably that he just replaces the entire cabinet and carries on with the things he’s already told us he wants to do
We also don’t have a parliamentary system so it would have to somehow be like enough Senate seats up for grabs to get a Dem supermajority and Mitt advocating for them as part of a giant party ticket
I mean the problem is right there in the OP - they get the benefits of Dem policy while they and their representatives rail against the Dems destroying America. I don’t know what carefully crafted policy or message is going to solve that and it’s silly for Dems to chase it anymore
I think you should use whatever language you feel comfortable with but it’s pretty clear where society is heading on this issue so you should also be prepared for the consequences
I think that’s probably fair and fine but hard to inform red state policy in the near term - but yes definitely go after the platforms and people like Ellison, Zuck, Elon etc
Hell she should run for Senate in New York, instant improvement to either seat
