1999 is sensational. I wore that LP out :)
Like you, I remember when “When Doves Cry” came out. Completely blown away. Then I saw “Purple Rain” and it was like being struck by lightning. He went to another level.
It’s amazing to watch an artist ascend. It was like that with Prince then.

Live look at everyone who drafted Victor Vodnik.
“1999” was unbelievable but nothing - and I mean nothing - prepared people for what “Purple Rain” was.
Just an absolutely incredible artistic achievement in every possible way.
Perfect 10/10.
Fernando Tatis is on pace for 0 home runs this season.
He will hit 0 home runs this season.
Wait, the film excludes the other most famous member of his family?
Seriously?
He spelled Tatis wrong.
It’s A-S-S
25 years ago Prince turned the heat up on everyone’s TVs.
How difficult could the conversations have been if the photos were … what’s the word Vrabel used?
Oh yeah …
“Laughable.”
His real “Dad Strength” will come when his daughter watches the scene when Mom turns Stack in “Sinners.”
Bonus points if the first question is about Vrabel’s assessment of this year’s draft class.
Facts matter.
Another Closer down.
Protect Mason Miller at all costs.
Oscar Isaac wants to return.
Daisy Ridley wants to return.
John Boyega wants to return.
Guys, this seems real easy to me.
I’m a former sports reporter. If the allegations are true - and I’m convinced they are - she absolutely deserved to be fired.
Whether you like it or not, there needs to be integrity to the job. She (if the allegations are true) violated that integrity. Whether others do too is a separate discussion
77 million people approve of children being harmed.
That’s the headline.
I’m not a #Mets fan but that’s just painful. Two outs away from ending a 10-game losing streak.
Given how many Closers are suffering injuries, it seems likely contending teams will be targeting Pete Fairbanks at the trade deadline. There’s absolutely no reason for the #Marlins to keep him.
He’d be a huge asset as a Closer for a playoff contender in the stretch run.
So thrilled to see “Out Where The Busses Don’t Run” get the love it deserves.
Not just for the brilliant - and it is absolutely brilliant - final scene but it’s but it’s a nearly perfect television episode in every way.
Script.
Acting.
Casting.
Cinematography (of course it’s peak “Miami Vice”).
I’ve told people for over 20 years humans are unbelievably stupid. There’s so many more of them now and they’re seemingly everywhere.
Think about the fact that the President of the United States wanted to have his former VP murdered and that might not even rank among the worst 10 things he’s ever done as President and most people have completely forgotten about it.
Talk about a broken country.
He must have a buddy in Wisconsin. I’ve been getting texts (which I don’t open but I can view them) about unpaid parking fines here.
Pal, I work remotely and hardly ever drive anymore and *never* park anywhere where I’m going to be ticketed. You really need to get better at research.
He remembered he was Joey Wiemer.
When your contending team is having a rough week and needs Jacob Misiorowski to right the ship. #Brewers
