This whole thing was a deliberate set-up, and the real audience for it was not the American people. It was the global fascist movement.
He told me that his mom never let him grow his hair out, so this is new. But not learning how to properly wash your face? That's basic hygiene, like brushing teeth. My best guess it's because he was a boy raised around macho men.
Boys deserve to know how to care for their bodies too.
Today I taught a young male friend how to *properly* wash his face, shampoo and condition his long hair, towel dry his hair, the steps of detangling and brushing, scalp care, and more. Basic techniques, no special products or equipment. The lack of hair care knowledge I can understand, because ⬇️

Today, two different people told me that they wouldn't be at all surprised if they found out that I can do magic, like a wizard or such. Both mentioned summoning spells. Friends, if I had working summoning spells, I'd have comfortable, well-fitted, properly long enough pants.
I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons
Well done, so very well done.

This isn't the least bit surprising, unfortunately.

Cool, no big deal. It's n9t like people *DIED* to get OSHA created in the first place, right?
Fucking hell this is the stupidest timeline.
Elon Musk Quoted tweet: Career Treasury officials are breaking the law every hour of every day by approving payments that are fraudulent or do not match the funding laws passed by Congress. This needs to stop NOW! Mario Nawfal Quote tweet: Should the treasury be put on the blockchain so this doesn't happen? Elon Musk Reply: Yes!
We are in such, such profound danger. They are doing the Reichstag fire to the most crucial and foundational payments layer of the Federal Government.
Elon Musk now has access to your Social Security number. The world’s richest man has gained access to the confidential personal information of every taxpayer in the United States.
Just in case you weren't already freaking out
You know what to do
Did you know that Command Strips lose their stickiness when you forget them in the back of a drawer for a couple years? Actually it might be closer to 5 years. Um. Anywayyyyyyyy....
Oh look, I got that part right. Now let's get that outrage focused on other things.
12/12 Clearly this is not a black-and-white issue. I'm not entirely sure how I feel, or what to trust as objective truth on the matter. Writing all this out helps to process some of the irritation and discomfort with the public emotional upheaval, if nothing else.
11/? ...can be useful. Discord has the potential to be used very effectively for the same purposes as TikTok, but has the hurdle of needing to find and join relevant servers. The hurdle is a bit more protection than barrier in my experience.
10/? I don't trust Meta platforms, and I absolutely get the disgust with X. I just don't see TikTok as any better.
BlueSky is filling the space Twitter did, way back in the day, and doing it extremely well from what I see. FB is a shitshow with a couple useful features. Insta is slow-motion but...
9/? ...in the way of seeking or building a *better* platform. They just want TikTok back, despite all the misinformation and proven detriment. This looks like addiction to me, with a flimsy wrapper of socio-political concern.
Maybe I'm missing something crucial because of my lack of TikTok use.
8/? The F-U aspect is functionally performative, tho I know it's felt sincerely. The incoming gov't figured out how to benefit from it,so it'll be bought and released soon enough. This is obvious.
I love that Americans are showing collective outrage at gov't overreach, but I'm not seeing much
7/? I'm told the move to RedNote is motivated by a belief that what Americans see there is trustworthy portrayal of life in China. I can't confirm or deny that, only advise a hefty dose of salt and the assumption of standard-issue censorship. It's also a big F-U to US gov't for the TikTok ban.
6/? Maybe because I'm 46 and have been through several social media formats; because I've always sought out info on life in other countries; definitely because I am of the people who learned to use the internet as a deliberate tool with caution and discernment. I'm not a techie, just a Xenniel.
5/? I guess I'm trying to understand 1)why people like TikTok so much, & 2)why they think RedNote is the new place to be. I don't truly understand the outrage because real-time international videos are everywhere, propaganda is everywhere, censorship is everywhere. No, that doesn't make it ok.
4/? A defense of TikTok I hear is that it shows Americans in real time how the rest of the world really is. I don't know how much to believe this, because 1)every social media I've used does this, 2)you still only get what the poster shows you, 3)short videos leave little room for nuance or context.
3/? Social media on general has proven detrimental effects on heavy users. Any monitizable platform gets used to generate income for people who need income.
2/? People have found value in TikTok, and earned income through it. I get that, but it doesn't sit well being used as justification for an app that has proven detrimental effects on active users.
