We recorded the last @bluemoonpodcast.com of 2025 this morning, where I discussed #MCFC's latest bigly win, manufactured controversy, the title race, Semenyo, Bobb and more with @davidmooney.co.uk and Richard Burns π©΅

It was written while they were on tour in Stockholm one January I believe! Great song though and definitely a festive favourite of mine.
Even after three straight wins, #MCFC are a very difficult team to make sense of this season. But perhaps it's all part of their growth journey?

The refereeing wasn't great on Saturday, but I was far more frustrated by #MCFC's wastefulness and defensive frailty against Newcastle. It will cost them the title this season if they don't improve.

I enjoyed stepping into @bluemoonpodcast.com hosting duty in @davidmooney.co.uk's absence this week, where we talked Haaland, O'Reilly, Foden, Donnarumma, Nico, Newcastle, Leverkusen and more, with @samdlee.bsky.social and Chris Higginbottom π©΅ pod.fo/e/356985
I was pretty downbeat about #MCFC's title chances after they lost at Villa Park the other week, but the performances and results since then have blown a hole in my pessimism. Here's my latest post for the Totally City Substack π©΅

After a pair of one-nils yesterday, I'm struggling to see how Arsenal don't win the title this season, and how #MCFC will get anywhere near them.
It's not a crisis, just reality. Read all about it in my new Totally City Substack post π©΅
On the left, David James (in an outfield shirt) looks aghast towards referee Rob Stiles against Middlesbrough. On the right, it reads: "Agree to Disagree"; "Will anything good ever happen against Boro?" and "Blue Moon Podcast".

#MCFC are on a great run of form at the moment, but will their thinly veiled problems catch up with them eventually?
That's what I've written about in this week's Totally City Substack post π©΅
Recent results have forced me to reassess my pre-season belief that #MCFC weren't good enough to win the Premier League title this year. Read all about it in my new Totally City Substack post π©΅
Aaaaaand, if you like the idea of me and @davidmooney.co.uk prattling on about Manchester City a little more, I have a book launch night at The Waldorf in town on October 30. All proceeds going to @mcfcfoodbank.bsky.social

After eight games played in all competitions, it feels like a good time to give every #MCFC player a mark out of 10 for their performances so far this season, so that's what I've done in my new Totally City Substack post π©΅
Agreed. Our possession game went a bit stale the last couple of years and other teams got wise to it. I don't see us being good enough to win the league this season, but I feel like we're back on a good track, and that'll do for now
Sunday's performance wasn't pretty from #MCFC, and the late equaliser was a kick in the teeth, but the approach and result showed encouraging signs of progress.

This week I have written about Long Story Short - a Netflix show which really charmed me this summer - and where this βsadcomβ sits in the pantheon of adult animated comedy.
Sunday's derby win was just the tonic for #MCFC, with great performances from Haaland, Foden, Doku and Donnarumma π

Interesting that you didn't draw the line at rampant capitalism, Trump donations or the Super League. Also interesting that you mute at the first sign of an actual debate. Modern football/life is full of hypocrisies, and we're all navigating these murky waters together brother. Stay humble βοΈ
We've heard this rubbish from loads of fanbases over the years. Very easy to say when you'll likely never have to back it up. City fans have had to think about this subject a lot more deeply than you probably ever will, so stop with the pious brow-beating, because you're not holier than thou
No you wouldn't
