I keep seeing people post that Republicans are “scared“ of Trump, but that’s missing the point. They’re not scared of this. They’re happy and excited. These people are sadistic, and Trump is making all their darkest dreams come true.

I think BlueSky should add a feature where your screen turns yellow and a klaxon sounds and “CONTAINMENT BREACH” is flashed onscreen whenever a post or reply suddenly over performs your usual “one like from a pitying friend” reception.
And as always, if you just absolutely NEED a beloved British childrens' fantasy series about witches and wizards to survive, a further reminder that Sir Terry Pratchett appears zero times in the Epstein Files and Granny Weatherwax would take none of Mrs. Rowling's transphobic pedophilic shit.
a man who was one of my math teachers used to give me a neck & shoulder rub in class, unwantedly. once, he snapped my bra because my shirt was askew and it was showing. one time he dumped me out of my chair onto the floor after he said “pencils down” but i was finishing my answer. i am sad that…
Totally! It used to be shadier at Duboce, but a couple of the larger trees uprooted themselves 15(?) years back, and left it way more exposed.
Yesterday was my sobriety anniversary, won’t say for how long because when I was first in the program people who had two whole weeks gave me hope, but I figured people with a year or more couldn’t be as alcoholic as I was. If you’re new, though, trust me: have hope.
ECCC was fun and I had a wonderful time.
But there was a storm cloud. When I complained about Trump with my white straight cis friends, we were all sincere and concerned.
But I talked with many Trans friends, and it’s so much worse. They are in fear for their lives.

Absolutely. The whole cast is strong, but Ian Richardson is clearly having the time of his life.
Nobody I knew growing up had a professional job, so being something like a dentist, where you were your own boss, set your own hours, and made good money, was a lot of kids' dream.
My own dream was to have a job where I could sit down all day! That happened at least :)
I’m beginning to think that responding on social media is not a promising way to turn malicious and ill-informed strangers into malicious and slightly better-informed strangers.
I miss when you could post Brave Norman Rockwell Townsperson and the caption could be, like, “R.E.M was wrong to leave ‘Fretless’ off of Out of Time” instead of “The secret police should stop murdering people.”

Some of us didn't hop online in the 90s or the 2000s to get rich and famous, man.
Some of us hopped online in the 90s and 2000s 'cause it was FUN to chat with people all over the world... for free!
Baby, we grew up when it cost a zillion dollars to call long distance! We had pen pals at school!
A storefront in Hollywood glows during the golden hour. Some palm trees line the street it’s on. Circa 2005 maybe? They used this building on Beverly and Gardner as the Peach Pit in the newer version of 90210. I drove or walked by it every day so would see them filming. One day while driving by, they weren’t actively filming and I saw Tristan Wilds. I leaned out the window and yelled “yo Omar’s coming.” He liked that so he smiled and waved. I don’t usually take pictures within the city, but the last one seemed to be liked so here goes. I’ll be back to mountains, rivers and oceans soon enough I suppose.

I like that quote so much that it's at the top of my academic home page. I grew up with so many brilliant creative people who were denied the chance to enjoy their talents.
On @katedrummond.bsky.social's Uncanny Valley podcast I said I thought my next step against ICE would be an in-person event.

Thank you! I hadn't seen this version of The Producers, and this gave me a chance to laugh on a super-shitty day.
Fascists want to be terrifying, and they are, but they're also ridiculous, and they'll never be able to cope with that.

It's great to see this, and I was quoted!
This was such a good recommendation, thank you! Binging it this weekend.
