Long story short, it's because the contraction sticks to the verb even if the un contracted sentence would have the word elsewhere.
Chances are you're so used to it you don't notice it, but it's the case in a lot of negative interrogative sentences. "Wouldn't it be nice?" "Can't you tell?" and so on

They can't imagine doing the right thing for free over being paid do to the wrong thing, because it's a choice they would never, ever make.

It's been a while and I've read the book since. I'd say my interpretation of the second cover was closest, although the character I interpreted as a child is an adult.
I recommend the book by the way, cozy horror sounds weird but it worked well IMO!

Is that supposed to be surprising? We've known that for ages, I guess they're out of stuff to publish. I guess not much is happening right now... 😅

Looks more like a butt plug than a dildo to me I've got to say.

40 years ago was 1985, if it's been active since the 70s has it been 50 years rather than 40? Is that the mistake you're talking about?

I'm not ashamed of crying, but when I cry I feel vulnerable and less able to push people away if I need to, while they simultaneously want to approach me more than usual. So I get it.

The People I Remember On This Trans Day Of Remembrance Elisa Shupe, Lia Smith, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and so many more names are worth remembering today.

1. Nearly every transgender person walks this earth knowing people like us who are no longer with us.

In writing about transgender people every day, I hold in my heart the people who are now our ancestors, and I try to bring their light forward.

These are the people I'm remembering today.

View of my lap with my cat Sphaera, Grey European shorthair, cuddling on me. Remains of my breakfast can be seen on the coffee table in front of me and I'm still in my pyjamas (fluffy light blue with darker blue outlines of penguins all over)

I feel like they're giving the bully their address so they can beat the up outside of school hours too

I have no idea what any of them are worth but I like the look of 3 best, then 2, then 4, then 1.
Usually best value for me is midtier as the price tends to rise much faster than the features do so top price can be 10 or 20 times the price of second price but only a small percentage better.

According to the USDA, each $1 spent in SNAP generates as much as $1.54 in economic activity, including increased GDP.

I mean if it is going to happen I hope it opens their eyes but I wish it wasn't happening at all

Not to mention statistically some of them are widows too or the fathers have been racially profiled and arrested or deported, but let's punish the kids who unfairly lost their dad anyway. Not that it would be fine if they're just separated of course, but they're not even thinking more than a second

Then of course the next layer on top of that is equating "good hard working Americans" to "white, usually rural people" and "lazy leeches" to people of color, immigrants, queer people, liberals or anyone else they don't like or are afraid of.

They're not thinking in those terms (or in any). They think food stamps aren't the same thing as SNAP, and that the latter helps good Americans fallen on hard times while the former is being abused by lazy people leeching off society.
That's how they rationalize voting against their own interest

The shutdown is not why SNAP is being withheld.

It has never been withheld in a shutdown.

The well is not dry.

You are being lied to.

Thought that too then I realise it says BALENCIAGA which means it's not even trying to say "I don't give a fuck".
Shame as it would have at least meant something instead of just being ugly

They sell reflectors that you can snap on your arms. You know the kind that you can straighten then snap against you arm and they curl around it? That as reflectors. Good idea to get some, and a headlight (literally) to help you see and be seen.

A cartoon showing a man between a white construction worker and a black man. He points to the black man and says "Careful mate ... that foreigner wants your cookie" The man in the middle has a plate full of cookies; the construction worker has one cookie; the black man has no cookies.

I'm pro-union because I think workers should organize to balance the power that business owners have in various negotiations. It's true that unions have been weakened, but it's not because of multiculturalism. I would argue, it's because people seek to exploit divisions for their material interests.

Did you know you can also get glue from gorillas?

Slightly related: my parents agreed to let me have a drop of wine when I was a kid (they had it at meals and I couldn't). 35 years later I'm still repulsed by alcohol.

How heartless of you not to stop the other party from winning by voting for someone who will do the same things if he's elected!
